Captured from a hot air balloon flying over Derbyshire. A morning I’ll not forget in a hurry. The silence up there was amazing…

... I wish I was ... homeward bound ...

my first upload of an iphone photo (but perhaps not the last). I've been taking some shots that I like with my husband's iphone (when I remember that it actually has a camera to reckon with)! and playing with Instagram is fun, occasionally :) ... I've been very reluctant to use the camera on phones, and I think I'll only use it occasionally, but sometimes it's extremely convenient, and you can do some nice stuff with the iphone. I've definitely been inspired by some of my flickr-friends who do some fantastic things with it

I always wanted to take a side on of an elephants profile as he looks over the Veld. Trouble is, there’s no direction with wildlife. You capture what you can.... with what they choose to give you. So when this lone elephant stopped grazing for a few seconds, I zoomed in, chose a wide aperture and took the shot.

If only my legs were a bit longer, I could have taken one of these cars for a ride...

Looking out through the window of a central London cafe at a women having a break across the road.

Against the backdrop of Lamorna Cove, two figures stood on the wall, waves tenderly caressing large pebbles below. Storm clouds gathered ominously overhead, casting a moody atmosphere. The sea, a canvas of conflicting elements, echoed the imminent drama, creating a scene where nature's tranquillity and impending tempest converged.

Raffles Hotel, Singapore - 2015

Built in 1878 this is a world renown luxury hotel that opened in 1887, and is named after the 'founder' of Singapore - Sir Thomas Stamford Raffles.

The hotel has 103 suites, 3 floors, and 8 restaurants. It is also home to the Long Bar, where the cocktail Singapore Sling was invented - I didn't have time to try it!

Today three of my large scale charcoal drawings were framed in Oxford. These will be exhibited at "Looking Out" in September www.westoxarts.com

I really don't know what she was looking at but how cute is this?

Thank you for supporting my art!

I had lost my memory card from this outing about a year and a half ago. I found it yesterday. It's funny, I have tens of thousands of pictures, yet I thought about these lost 463 images almost every day, if only for a brief moment. It's nice to have them back.

Painting 50 x 40 oil on canvas, painted out of doors in USA. To be exhibited at West Ox Arts Gallery 24th September - 16th October 2016.

This will take place on Saturday, 24 September from 12noon to 2pm at West Ox Arts Gallery in Bampton, OX18 2JH, www.westoxarts.com.

I will show a number of large-scale oil paintings that I painted in plein-air while in an area of stunning woodlands in Walden, Michigan, over the summer. There will also be some iPad drawings created in the woods. America during the summer months, with the heat and sunlight, injects a new kind of excitement into my work. These woods have an important sentimental attachment, and I have sought to paint and draw them with as much dedication as I would a portrait of a friend. I am very excited to be able to show you these paintings.

Andrew will show some of his beautiful traditional pottery, with pieces made specifically for the exhibition. Andrew makes pottery that is functional, so creating beautiful objects to enhance everyday life.

Both Andrew and I strive to make artworks that connect with nature, and we believe this can be achieved only by looking out.

We would be delighted if you could join us for the opening reception. The exhibition runs until 16 October and is open Tuesday to Saturday 11.30am to 4.30pm, Sunday 2.00pm to 4.00pm. There is free parking outside the gallery, including disabled parking. You can find more information on the Facebook events page.

I will also give a talk at the gallery on 6 October at 7pm. Do contact me if you are interested in attending.

The room with this view belongs to a long vacated house in a rather picturesque setting. I do not know why the building was abandoned. I think its a pity that this view is no longer enjoyed by any inhabitants. This was taken from inside and perhaps you can tell the building is now roofless!

Thought this would fit the theme for week 30 "Openings" as a window is an opening in a wall.

In this image I focused on the window screen itself instead of what is beyond it. When one spends more time at home (as COVID continues to be a presence in the area) you never know what details you may notice.

I don't know why, but this seems a little eerie to me. Like something is hiding in the clouds and spreading across the land. That's what happens when you stay up late watching "War of the Worlds."

This is a shot about Mou and me. It has been not easy at all to share our life with her. She is so unstable and temperamental: sometime she is quiet and contemplative, at other times she is turbulent and wild. I love this moody, sweet girl, love this portrait of her, there is a bit of me inside...

had been all but forgotten.
