Prompt: digital art in watercolor of a squirrel peeking out of its hole in the tree, holding an acorn with both paws and looking at it curiously. The central composition captures its curious expression as it gazes intently at the acorn, --ar 1:1 --v 6.1

We've been getting a lot of rain the past couple of days and it looks like we're only going to be getting more.

Lee Big Stopper
Lightroom 2
My Big Stopper arrived in the mail this weekend. I ordered it six months ago...The clouds were great and the temp was cool today, so at lunch I drove to White Rock Lake and took some test shots. Here is one of the better ones. Unfortunately, I could not get the sky to look good in color. I believe I'm also going to need a grad ND for better skies in middle of the day shots.
I love it and I'm hooked.
I'm slowly going to be uploading pieces from my recent show to the internet. You can read about all the pieces including this one here, as well as purchase prints.
Hope everyone is having a wonderful week!
Theme of The Week - Favorite Photographer
I don't really have a favorite photographer, or artist of any kind. I have favorite works of art, individually, I think art should always be in motion, always in flux.
I do admire Annie Leibovitz's work though.

I was delighted to spot an adult hairy shieldbug in my garden over the summer, and even more excited to then see this tiny (about 3 mm, I think) and presumably just newly hatched hairy shieldbug* in the same area, so I wonder if the female I'd seen about two weeks previously had laid some eggs, although I can't easily find any information to confirm how long the eggs take to hatch.
*Many thanks to Rockwolf for the correction (see her comment below): this shieldbug is actually a 5th instar---back to shieldbug school for me!
As I seem to find with all other shieldbugs, this tiny thing was difficult to photograph (I can never quite get the dof/focus correct), but I did like this composition of the tiny baby looking out into the great big world.
Now that it's finally spring and warming up outside, when the weather is nice and sunny we open up this window for our kitty Frodo.
When he isn't sleeping on his window perch, he really enjoys sitting here, peering out through the screen taking in the sights and sounds of the back yard.
I really need to prune those bushes to give him a better view.
even with the setting sun is the promise of a new day to come....

Two rock agama's warming their bodies in the African sun. Seen at the Naabi hill gate in Serengeti national park, Tanzania, Africa. The red-headed rock agama ('Agama agama') has beautiful bright red, orange and blue colors. This species of lizard from the family Agamidae is found in most of sub-Saharan Africa.
