Our camp that night was graced by the local family who runs it. After serving us a lovely dinner, they proceeded to show us some of their traditional dances. Notice the young boy with the Saddam Hussein T shirt, 3rd from the right. Many of them get their clothes from tourists who leave behind shirts. Who knows where he got that shirt. Several of our tour members donated t shirts to the locals. 0409072026

“Commonly known outside Transylvania as Dracula's Castle, it is marketed as the home of the title character in Bram Stoker's Dracula. There is no evidence that Stoker knew anything about this castle, which has only tangential associations with Vlad the Impaler, voivode of Wallachia, who shares his name with Dracula. Stoker's description of Dracula's crumbling fictional castle also bears no resemblance to Bran Castle.” (Wikipedia)
Tom Kettle was the husband of Mary Sheehy and brother-in-law of Hanna Sheehy Skeffington. Kettle was a vocal supporter of women's suffrage and a member of the IWFL. As MP for East Tyrone his support for the cause gave Irish suffragists a voice in Westminster. However at the Irish Party Convention in 1912 he failed to put forward a proposal that women should be included in the Home Rule Bill. He wrote: 'I feel it my duty to say for all Irish Nationalists, men and women, Home Rule comes first and everything else second'. He resigned from the IWFL because 'they had declared war on the Irish Party'.
Tech Cocktail was excited to partner with GE for an inspiring night of innovation with special guest Justin Fishkin of Local Motors. The attendees not only left the event with nuggets of information and dreams to build the next revolution of refrigerators, but many walked away with small trinkets they built on the 3D printers and laser cutters that were on exhibit. It was quite a night!
