The past 7 days have added up to a very lousy week. My racecar is giving me fits and it is supposed to be raced Saturday and Sunday. So apparently to make up for it and to change my attitude several of the neighbors dropped by. Sure wish I knew what this bird was. Preliminary investigation points to a mountain bluebird. If you know birds, please enlighten me. Sorry for the view but grabbed the camera and shot through the screen

Hack4Reno is primarily a 24-hour hackathon where teams build apps that somehow benefit the local community. This means creating apps for the web and/or other platforms that aggregate, collect or share information about the area. Teams are not required to use only city data – any and all data sources are encouraged but a focus on Reno makes it much more challenging. These apps don’t have to be boring and serious either. Have fun with it. Maybe someone really wants to know where the closest food truck is.

He was sitting in the shade during our trip to Vaitape, the main city in Bora Bora. There is a huge socio-economic gap between tourists (who pay tens of thousands of dollars to vacation here) and the locals who literally live in poverty.

I was ashamed to see that the big resort corporations have not given back to the culture that is deemed "the most beautiful island in the world."
