- Went to visit a local attraction with the couple friends we had visiting... sometimes it nice to be reminded what is around:
"The National Air Force Museum of Canada, formerly known as the RCAF Memorial Museum, is an aviation museum dedicated to preserving the history of the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) and is located on the west side of CFB Trenton in Trenton, Ontario. Opened April 30, 1984 on the 60th anniversary of the establishment of the RCAF, it is home to a large collection of RCAF aircraft and artifacts."

« El Fête ed Florimond » - Après-midi festive avec sortie du géant local, participation d'associations doullennaises à la parade et animation picardisante au jardin du Musée Lombart.
Florimond est entouré des membres de la troupe abbevilloise d'acrobates de rues, "Les Mains Goch'". Trois autres groupes ou associations le précèdent lors de sa déambulation :
* la Compagnie des Francs-Archers de Doullens",
* la toupe locale de majorettes, les "Chrysalides",
* les musiciens amiénois de Big Funk Brass.
Les majorettes de la "petite section" sont en général plus spontanées que leurs aînées. Leur gestuelle et leurs mimiques font toujours le bonheur de leurs parents, du public et, bien sûr, des photographes.

This week I visited Battersea Fire Station to praise the excellent work of their team - and announce an additional £19 million to help tackle future emergencies.
The funding will be used to improve the rescue of people from collapsed buildings as well as decontamination of the public. The money - which will cover the cost of protective clothing for Firefighters, as well as training on dealing with hazardous substances - comes on top of the £1bn already committed to purchasing specialist equipment for dealing with major incidents.
Many Wandsworth residents may take the Battersea Fire Service for granted, but they have experience of helping at major train disasters and collapsed buildings. They are also trained to act in the event of a terrorist attack, chemical accident or gas leak. We are fortunate to have them as part of our local fire service, and we should all be proud of the specialist work they do.

City, local and state officials along with representatives for US members of Congress, along with members from the Illinois State Police, BNSF, underpass construction affiliates, and members of the Sibley Family, gathered Wednesday morning for a ribbon cutting to officially open the Reverend Jon A. Sibley Sr. Underpass. The completion of the underpass, along with the completion of two overpasses in Galesburg and Route 41 from Galesburg to Abingdon, marked the end of a major effort that began in 2009. The underpass is named after the late Sibley an outstanding member of the community who served in numerous roles and capacities, including a longstanding member of the Carl Sandburg College Board of Trustees.
