Even though we slaughtered our Thanksgiving turkey the other day, we decided to put it in the freezer for later this winter. Instead, we feasted on lobster newburg, scalloped potatoes and kale, washing it all down with my favorite house wine: rhubarb.
Off to the yarn shop for the day. I don't imagine it will be too busy this Black Friday, do you?

Bluestone fences and the paddock which is part of the reserve are visable. The row of box thorns lining the road in from Woods Road runs along the top right.
"The heritage is the reserve and the waterholes on the Dry Creek, approx 200 metres upstream from the confluence with Skeleton Creek. Dry stone walls and the remnants of a building exist." - W.C.C HO119
"The track to the reserve is marked by a almost unbroken line of box thorns. This was a Government Reserve for travelling stock. Further upstream is another reserve, at the confluence of Dry Creek and Skeleton Creek. A third water hole is another 200 metres north, on Dry Creek.
Both are archaeological significant as they were used by aboriginals." - W.C.C. 1997 Study.

Murree is one of the largest resort towns in the Galyat area of Pakistan, and is the capital city of Murree Tehsil (which is an administrative division of the Rawalpindi District). It is situated on the southern slopes of the Western Himalayan foothills as they ascend to the northeast towards Kashmir. During British Rule in the nineteenth century, its altitude was established at 7,000 feet (2,100 m), but its actual altitude has now been determined as 2,300 m (7,500 ft) above sea level[4].
Murree is accessible by road from the centre of the Islamabad and Rawalpindi areas. It is still associated with Britain; many British fruits (including cherries, raspberries and strawberries) thrive locally. There is a church, built in 1857, located at the centre of the town, which is still used as a place of worship. Many houses around the church are still standing, functioning mostly as hotels. Old traditional restaurants have been replaced by fast food shops and newer restaurants. Some old places of accommodation, such as the Rich Villa Inn and Gulberg Hotel, have completely disappeared. A typical hotel usually provides a motel type accommodation with breakfast and communication access. Newly built hotels are also accessible.
Murree has expanded since 1947 at a rate much greater than that which its infrastructure can sustain. Securing water and electricity has been a constant challenge. The jam-packed bazaar has caught fire a number of times in the last century, and the growth of tourism and a construction boom have had an adverse effect on the local environment.

Lancaster local food in April 2011. What role can local elected representatives and local authorities play in preventing radicalisation leading to violent extremism? About one hundred local elected representatives, decision-makers and specialists from 22 European countries met in Aarhus, Denmark, on 18 November to discuss this issue. The conference was held jointly by the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe and the European Forum for Urban Security (Efus) in partnership with the cities of Aarhus and Rotterdam, and forms part of the broader initiative “Towards an alliance of European cities against violent extremism”. It was opened by Jacob Bundsgaard, Mayor of Aarhus, Leen Verbeek, Vice President of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities, Guilherme Pinto, President of EFUS and – via video message – Ahmed Aboutaleb, Mayor of Rotterdam (Netherlands).
