In Warren Park, a large city park within walking distance. Looks good View On Black. Well, as good as a mostly black butterfly can look anyway.
It's unusual to see a horse of this colour pulling an Amish cart. Usually the Amish favour non-flashy, solid colour horses like bays, browns, and blacks - and this guy was a little smaller than the usual Amish buggy horses. I couldn't resist taking his photo!
That's the Shipshewana Livestock Auction Barn in the background (yes, live auction - as in horses, ponies, cows, goats, tack, household goods - you name it!

A local market in Thailand, there is far more to explore than one might expect!

Studio Boise, a local photography business, hosts a free monthly event where they open several rooms for photographers and models to shoot. This is a lovely time to network with new models and catch up with old friends, but it is tough shooting conditions. Photographers can't use their own lights, they can't adjust any of the Studio's backdrops or lighting, and sometimes there might be 3-6 shooters trying to get a model's attention. Chaos, but it is still fun and we appreciate them doing this.
Savvy (Savannah) is the model here. This was my first time shooting with her. She was 38 weeks pregnant at the time. She has such a natural beauty and sweetness about her. She was so nice to be around and I hope we can keep shooting in the future!

Diane Melms, a local quilt artist, came to speak to the guild. She brought her work spanning many years back so that we could see her process and how she started designing the work she does today. Amazing!
We also had a great showing for the meeting and members showed some really great stuff!
Taken in Dubrovnik. This is where the local guys played their football. It's right under the walls, really interesting.

museumPASSmusees 2023 - Mima - Local Heroes
Local Heroes combines, in the manner of the ancient Greek gymnasium, exercises of the body and the mind. For 4 months, MIMA is a temple of boxing and arts interacting with the visitor.
Local Heroes is a reinterpretation of the ancient Greek gymnasium: a place dedicated to the education of youth in the values of the city through sport and the arts. In this logic, the spaces in the exhibition are reserved either for the practice of boxing or for the celebration of local athletes. The whole is enhanced by artistic interventions born from the meeting between creators and boxers. Posters, photographs, videos and wall paintings are the favourite mediums in the aesthetics of boxing.
The choice of boxing is based on a historical, social and cultural reason. Firstly, the ancestor of boxing, pugilism, was widely practiced in gymnasiums throughout antiquity. Secondly, the boxing community sociologically reflects the youth of the Brussels city centre. Finally, compared to other sports, it is a major source of inspiration for the arts.

Even though we slaughtered our Thanksgiving turkey the other day, we decided to put it in the freezer for later this winter. Instead, we feasted on lobster newburg, scalloped potatoes and kale, washing it all down with my favorite house wine: rhubarb.
Off to the yarn shop for the day. I don't imagine it will be too busy this Black Friday, do you?
