The painting in the background I did several years ago; it was fun. I think I'll resurrect that activity and add it to my "creativity" list...just as soon as LOAD mini is over.
A wide load being transported.
We were stuck behind it for a very long time!

A coal train with Conrail and CSX power heads north on the ex-C&O at Greenlawn Avenue while a northbound empty train with Conrail power and hoppers heads south on the adjacent ex-NYC Western Branch.
565 sitting in the siding near the end of the Castlecliff branch, Wanganui, waiting for more containers to be transhipped onboard from the container terminal out of sight at the rear.
This train will then run direct to Wellington port.
Some may have wondered what happened to my usual daily postings. My interest in modern railroads has really waned, to the point of only having gone out twice so far in 2022, and that was for the LA&L. Agricultural pursuits have become our primary focus lately. We have built up our flock of chickens, ducks, and geese to over 60 birds. Much planning has gone into this years pumpkin crop. I have been able to secure some manure from a neighbor that lives about 1.5 miles away. It takes me 30 minutes to make a round trip to get a load, since the tractors top speed is probably somewhere around 10mph. It then takes us about an hour to unload the wagon with pitch forks. We should have some happy plants in the garden this year, and with the price of commercial fertilizer having doubled, this also helps with the budget since it is free! Here our neighbor "Lumpy" loads my wagon up on the morning of April 30, 2022.
A Montana Rail Link ballast train loads at the Pipestone Ballast Pit west of Whitehall, Montana. The train is headed up by MRL SD40-2XRs 260 and 264.
Here is the CS-710 in a starport loading some containers. It will carry these containers to a large interplanetary freighter waiting in a geostationary orbit

Loads from the Toyota Tundra truck plant come off the Corpus Christi Sub and on to the Austin Sub in downtown San Antonio behind clean power. September 2017.
Perhaps not that photogenic but I was pleased to finally get some shots at the loading bay at Gwuan-Cae-Gurwen (GCG). 66026 has just arrived from Immingham with empty hoppers on the 4V32 to load up with anthracite. It will take about 2.5 hours to load the train which will return to Immingham on the 6E09. Poignant, as this this is one of the last trains to GCG now that the coal reserves are near depletion.
Technicians load cargo into the Cygnus space in the Horizontal Integration Facility Friday, July 14, 2023, at NASA's Wallops Flight Facility in Virginia. Northrop Grumman’s 19th contracted cargo resupply mission with NASA to the International Space Station will deliver more than 8,200 pounds of science and research, crew supplies and vehicle hardware to the orbital laboratory and its crew. The CRS-19 Cygnus spacecraft is named after NASA astronaut Dr. Laurel Clark who flew aboard Columbia STS-107, and is scheduled to launch at 8:31 p.m. EDT, Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2023.
