Hoppers wagons are loaded up with coal at the Onllwyn wash plant for the onward journey to Immingham (6E09) headed by DB Shed 66221.
Loading of the HAA hoppers was underway and once completed, Cardiff Canton's Class 37/5 37689 would take 7B64 from Tower Colliery via Aberdare to the Phurnacite plant at Abercwmboi.

The road down to Kilmalieu has to be one of the most scenic parts of the whole Ardnamurchan Peninsula. Five minutes later I had great views of a Sea Eagle as it drifted overhead. It really doesn't get any better.

Here's my first layout for LOAD May 2011. I tried to stick with the basics, but it was harder to do than I thought it would be. I finally just had to force myseld to stop working on it and let it go.

LS&I U30C 3008 and HLCX 5968 lead a cut of Tilden loads through Empire Junction as they head for Eagle Mills and put on a smoke show... kinda.
My take on set 4201 Loader and Tipper, only in a futuristic style.

These used to be loading docks for trains.
I used the 'infrared' preset in CS3's new Black & White tool.
Phew - still sick - fever, aching, etc etc - didn't think I would do this but I pulled myself off the couch and threw it together. (With help from Studio Calico's Nicole Harper's LO that I lifted). Now back to bed!

Re-enactors of the 3rd Maine Regiment Volunteer Infantry load gear and supplies onto a Kennebec Central Mixed Train in the station area at Alna Center, Maine, during the June, 2024 "Road to Togus" event at the Wiscasset, Waterville & Farmington Railway Museum. Although not historically accurate, because the Kennbec Central was not built until well after the Civil War, the re-enactors were present at this event to emphasize the connection between the KCRR and the National Soldiers Home in Togus, Maine, where hundreds of Civil War veterans lived out the rest of their lives in retirement.
