My favorite AAA Class laker Philip R Clarke arrives Two Harbors MN on a gloomy, windy January 12th 2023 afternoon to take on one more load of ore for the season from the former Missabe dock. They would depart later in the evening bound for Gary Indiana. The Presque Isle is due to be last to load out of Two Harbors for the season.

CN ethanol load slowing heads out of the Kishwaukee River valley as they cross the Poole Road bridge near Irene, IL. The cold weather had the signal system acting up and they were running at restricted speed until they got their next clear signal just east of here. The NS 6814 leads on this frosty morning.

Usually, I plan my builds a long time in advance, but every once in a while, I build something on a whim. This is one of those times. I very much enjoyed building my tractors and felt like building something similar. I'll also be attending a show for models of cranes, heavy haulage and earth moving equipment in March. Hence, this JCB backhoe loader.

I did a few changes to my Zetros truck last night, including the loader crane, so I figured I'd drop this here - mostly because these things are pain in the neck to build at Minifig scale without relying entirely on click-hinges and having them become completely flimsy.
The gun piece is just there as a placeholder, if you want to make it extendable you need another flange or +Rod piece. And of course the hook. ;)
The upper portion of the crane is based on Bobofrutx's design

Coal from the nearby Ffos-y-fran open pit coal mine is washed and processed at the Cwmbargoed wash plant prior to despatch to Miller Agent’s customers, which includes Tata Steel, the cement industry in Derbyshire (Hope) and various heritage railways in UK. In this scene, 66156 loads up with coal at the Cwmbargoed Disposal point for despatch to Port Talbot on the 6C94.
