There is a beach, not far from Carmel-By-The-Sea, California, that during the heyday of the early 70’s, the psychedelia-inspired artist, Tomoko Hirakawa, created his infamous ‘sand painting’, I Linger Breathlessly Amongst the Ruins of Nan Madol. It is the type of beach that, if frolicking cast-free, smiting a fancy at will, or oddly enough, blissfully exhaling frivolity on a standard-size canvas...

Been going back in time a bit lately and revisiting some old Genesis...surely it can not be denied that in a musical sense at the very least, Selling England by the Pound was where it all finally came together and was the steppingstone for the truly genius release of the double-LP The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway...a simply stunning musical masterpiece from front to back (and unfortunately the last with Peter Gabriel, as well as the dividing line between "old" and "new" Genesis). So, from that very harbinger album:
'I Know What I Like (In Your Wardrobe)'
"...stepping one beyond your show."

The light lingered for a time before the fierce winds blew the winter storm upon the valley. Northern Wyoming.
A turn in a corridor suddenly reveals a glimpse beyond, another scene of harmonious peace to enjoy.
Yes, that's a Canada Goose swimming serenely in the pond - she's a regular at the Garden and became "Mother Goose" this past spring!

Miss & Mister Elegance 2025 - Third Challenge: SEASONS
For the Miss & Mister Elegance 2025 - Third Challenge, contestants were tasked with embodying one of the four seasons: Spring, Summer, Autumn, or Winter. The goal was to creatively transform into the chosen season, using daring outfits, poses, and storytelling to bring its unique personality to life. Contestants were encouraged to showcase their full potential and charm the judges by presenting the beauty, essence, and spirit of their season through bold and imaginative interpretations.
My describtion:
Mister Elegance 2024, Jayden Mercury, chooses Winter for its serene beauty and quiet power. Under the pale moonlight, he transforms into the Snowking, drawn to the sharp silhouettes of frost-covered trees and the peace that snow brings, muffling the chaos of the world beneath its white embrace. Winter is a season of stillness, where time feels frozen, and every moment lingers, untouched and eternal.
His heart, locked within a golden cage and cradled by snow, beats with melancholic rhythm—an offering made to preserve peace. As the Snowking, he stills the world, freezing hatred and chaos, creating a sanctuary where silence reigns and beauty thrives.

I absolutely love winter, but this spring I'm reminded of this story. If a gathering at my father-in-law's home went on a bit too long, he would look to his sweet wife and say, "let's go to bed honey so these good people can go home."
Meanwhile, let us have a sip of tea. The afternoon glow is brightening the bamboos, the fountains are bubbling with delight, the soughing of the pines is heard in our kettle. Let us dream of evanescence, and linger in the beautiful foolishness of things.
