揮之不去

感受風

感受存在

感受夢的氣息

感受這蒼茫歲月裡兩顆孤獨的心

它無處可尋

可它在我們心底揮之不去

A photocollage made mostly of elements from an installation at Thinkspace Gallery by Allison Sommers.

A quiet spring scene captured just as golden hour light grazes the hillside. A blooming tree, bathed in sunlight, stands in contrast to a tall oak just beginning to leaf out—both rooted in a lush, rolling green field. Below, a still body of water reflects the soft hues of the evening, while a dense thicket catches the last warm rays. A peaceful moment where light and nature meet in perfect harmony.

Sometimes its ok, to just be, tangled in bed, and be.

Walking through the streets of Cefalù, lingers in a small "shop" while a wood artist sculpted his creatures. I ask permission to photograph, permission granted with courtesy. This is a disappearing Art, he tells me, young people are disinterested in sculpture, too much time to waste, while society runs. I observe him in silence, I thank him for his courtesy and I thanked him for creating unique sculptures that will never have a high economic response but will surely have a place in memory.

Many of us older individuals can clearly recall phrases from our childhood that were either used against us or to encourage us during our young lives.

With a busy house full of eight water bugs, my father would often say, “Settle down. Do you have ants in your pants?” Before I realized what a figure of speech was, I wondered what kind of experience my dad must have had at some point in his life, causing him to inquire if we were suffering the same experience.

This Northern Flicker has a relationship with ants, although not in the same vein as my dad had in mind. Ants are one of the main meals of this member of the woodpecker family.

Unlike their head-knocking woodpecker cousins, Northern Flickers are more likely to be observed on the ground than in trees. In mid-to-late September, alert bird watchers will readily see them fluttering along country roads in small groups, searching for ants in the yellowing grasses as they eat heartily in preparation for their migration to the south, as far as Central America.

Flickers are well adapted to probe ant hills or beetle tunnels. They have a long, barbed tongue that they can extend up to two inches to unearth their six-legged prey.

While in Minnesota, they are busy. In the spring, the male and female work together to prepare a hollowed-out nest, incubate eggs, and feed a young family of six to eight beggars.

Upon their return from their winter vacation, they may not return to the same nest, but they do come back to the same stretch of woods or other foraging territory from which they left.

To help meet the increasing demand on water supplies, Siblyback Lake was constructed in the late 1960s, with the dam being completed in 1969. One early proposal was to dam the main Fowey valley itself, upstream from Golitha Falls, which would have flooded a large part of the valley, including farms and livelihoods. Fortunately, this proposal was not approved; although the building of Siblyback Lake caused some minor destruction of farming properties, it did not reach the same scale as the Fowey valley scheme.

Surrounded by the striking backdrop of Bodmin Moor, Siblyback Lake lies within the Cornwall Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).

There is a beautiful 5km round lake circuit, which is perfect for pushchairs, wheelchairs and bicycles. The path runs adjacent to the lake, and passes by the impressive Siblyback Dam and through woodlands.

so often i move from one thing straight to another. but i'm trying to linger more; to pause and to savor.

"Linger here and reflect on those lost to violence, hope for a more peaceful world, seek a reverence for life among all people."

I found this quote at Brookside Gardens, near Washington, DC.

Hours after the rain these droplets lingered.

I like the pattern in the grass blade and its magnification in the raindrops, as well as the apparent hairiness of the grass.

View up Albert Street towards Market Jew Street at Penzance.

Albert Street has many brings back family memories from my childhood days in the 1960s. Half way up this short street on the left hand side was "The Wheel Cafe". The cafe had a large ship's wheel hanging in the window.

My parents often used to take there for lunch. The proprietor Mr Ken May used to do a fantastic breaded plaice. Thanks to that plaice has always been my favourite fish over the years.

I also recall the orange drink dispenser of the type common in those days. A clear tank on top of a cooler which had a rotating stirrer. On top of the orange floated plastic oranges!

The Wheel Cafe has long gone - but the memories linger over 50 years on.

Details of a mamaku fern in Maungatautari, New Zealand

I'm so tired of being here, suppressed by all my childish fears

And if you have to leave, I wish that you would just leave

Your presence still lingers here and it won't leave me alone

These wounds won't seem to heal, this pain is just too real

There's just too much that time cannot erase

When you cried, I'd wipe away all of your tears

When you'd scream, I'd fight away all of your fears

And I held your hand through all of these years

But you still have all of me

You used to captivate me by your resonating light

Now, I'm bound by the life you left behind

Your face it haunts my once pleasant dreams

Your voice it chased away all the sanity in me

These wounds won't seem to heal, this pain is just too real

There's just too much that time cannot erase

When you cried, I'd wipe away all of your tears

When you'd scream, I'd fight away all of your fears

And I held your hand through all of these years

But you still have all of me

I've tried so hard to tell myself that you're gone

But though you're still with me, I've been alone all along

When you cried, I'd wipe away all of your tears

When you'd scream, I'd fight away all of your fears

And I held your hand through all of these years

But you still have all of me, me, me
