Shakrain is celebrated mostly around the southern part of Dhaka city. When night falls, fireworks light up the sky of old Dhaka. Flame-eaters also gather on the roofs to entertain people with their skills of manipulating fire. Music awakens the whole town, while people keep dancing from their hearts. Bringing thousands of people together to compete and have fun, it is an occasion and a day every youngsters wait eagerly for.
Usual setup here with my large diffusion sheet, Ryus Lightworks uber torch and my invaluable www.lightpaintingbrushes.com black fibers gelled orange.

An internationally acclaimed sensation of light, colour and sound has the beautiful gardens of Kings Park / Kaarta Koomba as a canvas. The journey was beneath tree canopies illuminated in colour, walking under larger-than-life flowers and into dynamic, glowing tunnels. Enjoying breathtaking lightworks created by the best local and international artists. Winter in Perth Kings Park showing off in the dark
Ohmmmmmmmm.
I sifted through the cardboard catalog tonight and found this spiritual creature. Stuck her on a piece of ceiling light perspex and lit her up.
www.lightpaintingbrushes.com black fibers, orange and blue filter attachments and a Ryus Lightworks vii wonder torch. I lit from behind using those tools then a swift tripod swap to the other dimension which exists inside Riley's old coat.
Long exposure light art shot in the darkness of my front room.
Good evening and I hope all is well, my camera and I have been separated since the end of my last 365. Only shooting a handful of times and never really getting anything which excited me.
This weekend I spent a few glorious days camping in the Peak District with Phill F, James Mills, Paul from Lace and Tom H.
This is from last night where Paul and I explored a leafy pathway just off the Monsal trail. Inspired by the green's and gold's of autumn I knew my colour combination. Shot using the LACE backlight scanner, LP Brushes filters, universal connectors and my favourite Ryus lightworks torch.
I'm really hoping that the longer nights give me the impetus the get out more and to fall back in love with LP again.
Great weekend in top company and looking forward to seeing everyone else's stuff.
Happy days
I'll try not to do another of these tomorrow night but I'm not making any promises :)
I got a new filter today from ebay. A Hoya Star8 for the princely sum of £2.99 so thought I'd give it a run out tonight.
Placed the star flare in the middle of the frame and exposed for 5 seconds, lens cap on and positioned the light blade. 8 way rotation of the camera one for each 360 of the blade which was powered by the Ryus Lightworks modded torch. Finished off with a rotation of the black fibers for the expulsion to fill the outside. Raw conversion with minor tweaks in Lightroom.
this is what I found in the other side...a ball full of stars!!

Back out with my OG LP Bro Matt. Took our hammocks out to the forest for the day just to chill out. Once it hit about 10.30pm it was dark enough to spin lights and the camera. Circles spun using Ryus Lightworks v2 on fast strobe.

Horrendous cropping, but the light and colour is so beautiful i couldn't resist. Time to learn how to photograph buildings...
and here's the obligatory View it on black... but it is worth it!
I started the night trying to take a series of shots around the periphery of my face with a view to stitching them into a panorama. It didn't work out as desired so I continued to faff and the exposures became longer and longer.
Beauty dish above, flash shot through the tank of a broken water pistol bottom of the frame. finished with a good sweep of the lpbrushes black fibers and Ryus Lightworks v2 torch.
I would've added another flash behind my head for a rim light but it's batteries are in one of Rileys Christmas presents :)

Wifey is away for the weekend... Winner! What's a man supposed to do with himself on a Friday evening? Get nekkid of course! At least I'm honest gents ;)
So I have the living room to myself and out comes 'the gear'
Two light stands and an office chair mat courtesy of Ikea suspended between them. Gelled 'Medium Blue Green' YN560IV fired from below 1/16 @ 24mm. Gelled 'Rust' YN560IV fired from above and slightly behind me 1/8 @ 105mm. Ryus Lightworks MkII torch gelled 'Quality Street' orange and then a quick swap to a 'Quality Street' blue for the background faffery. These had the LPB black fibre modifier attachment. Exported to PS for some fartnarkling and lots of 'Liquefy' to hone the torso!! Then into LR for the RAW conversion.
Enough 'techie' Mark D :)
Thought I best make an effort after last nights quickie! Many thanks to all you folks who commented on my No1 :)
A loose rendition of a figure 8 orb made with a tri-color light wand, reflected in the still water of Reynolds Pond in Central Oregon. The "piano key" curves were made with a homemade tube lined with holographic film, and illuminated with a Lightpainter V2 flashlight in strobe mode. All done in one 98s exposure.
I asked Lauren if she'd model for me tonight and she went all mental on me. Summoning powerful blue energy and fiery heat. Thankfully she was on the other side of a recycled office chair mat. Through which her super-powers could not permeate. She's calmed down now and she's safe to approach.
LP Brushes black fibers (one gelled blue and the other orange. Ryus Lightworks mega torch illuminating those along with an orange LPB filter and hood attachment for side light, 1 x Yongnuo 560iv gelled light blue fired through a beauty dish. Next a tripod swap and a mid-exposure lens swap to a zoom for the rotated blue el wire.
Raw conversion in LR with minor tweaks.
Job done.

Challenged myself to a midweek indoor shot. Using my Sony A7iii and a 24mm f2.8 Sigma Super-Wide vintage lens at f16 to start the exposure off. Focused on the cutout figure and lit with a cake sparkler then capped the lens and swapped mid-exposure to a pre-focused 19mm f3.5 Vivitar vintage lens at f8. With the Sony A7iii already mounted on the Camera Rotation Gimbal and a Sharpie coloured-in blade connected to a Ryu's Lightworks V2 torch on ribbon mode mounted on the bike-wheel-on-a-tripod. Rotated the camera at 90Deg intervals after each spin of the wheel and capping the lens after each step, changed the camera axis and repeated.
Shot in a single exposure.
Looks like I might be doing a bit more inside as the wet weather has arrived. All good!

Un an de réflexion et plusieurs séances de prises de vue pour essayer de magnifier cette orchidée un peu délaissée par les photographes.

It was a beautiful evening with lightworks to enjoy this special place that has witnessed so many historical events and political changes.

Fue una hermosa velada con juegos de luces para disfrutar de este lugar tan especial que ha sido testigo de tantos acontecimientos históricos y cambios políticos.
It was great to meet Dennis and Nicole on Saturday and during a cup of tea in my back garden Dennis presented me with a 3D printed Tardis along with v2 of his awesome torch. I'm quite sure such a combination of kind gifts has never been given before :)
Tonight I used them both in this shot.
Thanks again buddy and I'm sure the torch will help get me through this 365.
Top man
LP straight off the Sony to here.
