#4782 - 2021 Day 33: Anyone else feeling badly in need of colour and light? I mentioned last night during a talk that my January stream had been grey, a depiction of the drabness outside. So the solution: turn on the light.

A tranquil lake scene framed by tall grasses and scattered rocks in the foreground. The water reflects a cloudy sky and the silhouettes of sparse trees on a small peninsula to the right. In the background, a rugged mountain rises under overcast skies, adding depth and drama to the muted tones of the landscape. Captured by Ceallach Lightworks, the image evokes a quiet, moody atmosphere in a remote natural setting.

A black and white photograph of a tranquil lake with a small island of tall, slender trees at its center. The trees are mirrored perfectly in the calm water, creating a symmetrical and serene composition. In the foreground, partially submerged rocks lead the viewer’s eye toward the island. Overhead, dramatic clouds fill the sky, adding depth and atmosphere. Captured by Ceallach Lightworks, the image evokes solitude, natural beauty, and quiet reflection

Last weekend saw us all back to the same spot in the New Forest.

As I'd already got a handful of shots from the bridge I thought I'd follow Phill down the track to help with his shot and then he helped with my composition. I used the trusty V2 torch from Ryu's lightworks , on fast strobe (now available through Light Painting Paradise website) in a T8 tube with lime green gel with a purple end cap for the main circle then used a Klarus XT11s with an acrylic bubble rod with yellow gel for the plant scrolls. Phill was waiting at a lined-up spot with a BLF Q8 torch set-up as a backlight popped it on for 10 seconds. Fair Dinkum! Cracking night again with the spirit burner stoves brewin a few coffees and some Japanese instant noodles to keep us going.

Next to the Church of Santa María de Caná in Pozuelo de Alarcón, Madrid, Spain, they've put up these conical lights, somewhat resembling a Christmas tree.

Since the tendency of all camera sensors in these situations is to overexpose, I set the ISO to 100, increased the exposure time to 1/20s (taking advantage of the camera's IBIS) while waiting for the bus to arrive, and closed the aperture to f/8 to improve the sharpness of this lens, which gives a "creamy" look at wider apertures.

The rest is a bit of editing with Lightroom to achieve a slightly more accurate exposure and tones.

The photo was taken with a Nikon Z6III camera and a Brightin Star 50mm f/0.95 II lens, fully manual, without any connection pins to the rest of the camera, so the EXIF data may not be accurate.

Irresistible light and moss covered rocks - what more could a seascape photographer want!!!

This was the scene a few days ago during a sunrise shoot at South Bar Beach, NSW; Australia with long time friend and fellow flickr photographer Joe Micallef.

The image was only possible thanks to my new Progrey 1.2 Reverse Grad filter and Lee .9 Hard Grads (and a little bit of Photoshop...)

It's great to be able to share these moments through flickr - hope you enjoy it!!!

Have an awesome day and weekend everyone!!!

Thanks too for any comments, viewings or favorites for this or any of my other images - very much appreciated!!

Two horses stand peacefully on a grassy field framed by trees in full autumn color, with vibrant shades of yellow, orange, and green creating a rich seasonal backdrop. One horse faces slightly downward toward the other, which is partially out of frame, suggesting a quiet moment of interaction. The lighting enhances the texture of their coats and the lushness of the grass, while the scene evokes calm and connection in a natural setting. Captured by Ceallach Lightworks, the image blends animal grace with the warmth of autumn.

Mother Nature.

I was going to wave the black fibers behind a solitary leaf this evening but whilst daydreaming I came up with this.

Fingers crossed the neighbors didn't witness me harvesting leaves in the dark. I suppose if questioned it was for Riley's school project on the seasons.

All the usual suspects here with the office chair mat, aforementioned leaves, blue and orange light painting brushes coloured filter attachments and black fiber optics all topped off with the Ryus Lightworks wonder torch.

If you're looking for blade rotations and hands you've come to the right place :)

I worked out a method of rotating the blade on a different axis which gives off a bit more of a 3d look.

www.lightpaintingbrushes.com rectangle blade woth Ryus lightworks torch rotated 9 times preceded by the hand element. I decided to do the hand bit from behind the camera for a change but lit it as usual with the DIY beauty dish above and a flash with snoot and gel on the floor.
