A tough choice tonight on which shot to upload but this one just edges it I think.
A cool night out with Rich, Rob, Stephen and a brief appearance from James at Magpie Mine.
This one edged it as I think I nailed the exposure work. Its not the most technical light painting or ground breaking in any way. I think its key is in its simplicity.
Lit all round with the led lenser and thanks to Rich for lighting the window frame from behind. Quick burst of torch gelled red inside to mimic the light from the orb then span one.
Yet another top night with a cool set of folks.

On January 1st we sent off our daughter at Landquart station, for a train bound to Zürich Airport. Landquart is a small town in the Swiss Alps. You change at this station to go to Davos, famous for skiing and the World Economic Forum.
I processed a balanced and a photographic HDR photo from two RAW exposures, blended them selectively, and carefully adjusted the curves. I welcome and appreciate constructive comments.

Ostuni, one of the most fascinating destinations in Puglia is known in Italy as the White City, for its blinding white stone buildings and whitewashed houses.
We had a thunderstorm passing by my hometown Schuders, located in the Swiss Alps near the Austrian border. The rain was gone at around sunset, producing a mystical light in the mountain. The Drusenfluh is famous among rock climbers, across the cliff mountain is Austria.

It was Sunday morning when I saw Tiger for the first time. As usual I got up early and went for a walk with our dog Giorgio. And when I arrived at exactly this point in the photo and admired this beautiful scenery I saw through my lenses no 5 meters away from me a black cat. And as usual, Giorgio wanted to chase that cat and began to bark. The strange thing was that the black cat did not run away, but just looked at us like we were from another world. We did not pay any attention to the cat (well, I mean me because Giorgio did not stop barking) and went our way. Throughout the walk we saw that black cat about a dozen times and always the cat just looked at us like we were strangers! Almost scary that situation!!! Later at home my daughter came to me telling me that in our garden was a cat sleeping on the ground!
Something was wrong with this cat and so I decided to go to the veterinarian. The analysis of the veterinarian: The cat is very very very old. Has a tumor behind one eye and has also a massive kidney problem. The cat is undernourished (1.8 kg instead of more or less 3-3.5 kg) and therefore the fur does not look very beautiful. In the collar was an inscription that said „I’m Tiger and I’m 18 years old. Unfortunately I am deaf … please call …“. Well, we found the cat’s owner and everything was again OK. We saw Tiger two or three times since then sleeping again in our garden :-) But as the doctor said, Tiger will not survive the next two weeks … Tiger was too old! We received a letter from the cat’s owner … Tiger died! I will never forget this beautiful place and situation when I met Tiger for the first time!!! Tiger, wherever you are now, I wish you a wonderful and fine trip :-)
I want to thank all very much for your "views", "Comments" and "Favourites" :-) The only thing that matters is that you have joy in this photo. Again, thank you :-)

We went to Seewis for lunch, a neighboring village of my hometown Schuders, located in the Swiss Alps near the Austrian border. We sat at the terrace of Schlössli restaurant. From there we could see the village in the sun, while the Prättigau valley below was in the shade from clouds.

MEGALOMANIA AND MITOMANIA:
" WHEN YOU FEEL HIGHER ".
Megalomania and Mythomania are two delusions characterized by the blind belief of being Superior to others. These disorders in the long run deteriorate social life because the attitude is very annoying. These are actually extremely Fragile People who must be treated with targeted " Psychotherapy ". 😉

Artist’s Statement:
An Abstract of the river Findhorn bank near Logie Steading, Moray Scotland.
This work seeks to capture the silent dialogue between movement and stillness at the river’s edge—a space where light and shadow, surface and depth, merge into a dynamic equilibrium.
The composition is an exploration of contrast: the rich, earthen tones of the riverbank—deep reds, browns, and umbers—anchor the upper left of the canvas, while the foreground dissolves into near-black, an abyssal stillness that hints at unseen depths beneath the reflective skin of the water.
A rhythmic ripple effect permeates the painting, a visual echo of the river’s imperceptible motion, where surface tension holds both clarity and distortion in balance. Eddies of white and blue swirl in delicate vortices, ephemeral and fleeting, hinting at the unseen currents beneath. These bubbling eddies act as markers of time’s passage, brief yet persistent, endlessly reforming in the water’s ceaseless, whispering flow.
Reflections emerge as luminous counterpoints—tree forms abstracted into gleaming bands of silver, white, and orange, fractured yet radiant. They hover on the surface, existing as both presence and illusion, a liminal interplay between the tangible and the intangible. The weight of the river is felt in the dark undertones, an enigmatic stillness beneath the glistening veil of light and colour.
The brushwork is bold, yet restrained—gestural strokes capturing the river’s slow pulse, the almost imperceptible movement of time suspended in fluid form. This piece is not just an image of water; it is an evocation of its quiet power, its layered complexities, and its ability to hold within it both the weight of permanence and the transience of fleeting moments.
I took two versions of this tonight and I liked the overall effect from the other one but the fireball edged this one into the top spot.
All the usual suspects on display here shot during a single long exposure in complete darkness.
Camera rotation, zoom pulling, www.lightpaintingbrushes.com black and clear fibers and a pop of flash from high above the camera to illuminate the front of Lauren.
I'd like to say I'll leave this shot alone for a while but I just love the diffused light effects.
The sun was low when we left the Death Valley. The sun cast nice shadows on the Mesquite Flat Sand Dunes, when we took shots from a distance with a long lens. Two people posted for us unknowingly and serendipitously.

Chur, the oldest town in Switzerland is always a treat to visit. The city is located in the Swiss Alps, and is the regional capital of the Canton Graubünden (Grisons.) This is the Arcas Square, where some events are held in summer.
I processed a paintery, a balanced, and a photographic HDR photo from four RAW exposures, blended them selectively, carefully adjusted the color balance and curves, and desaturated the image. I welcome and appreciate constructive comments.

I saw a cool image on 500px earlier of the silhouette of a man stood on the edge of a cliff in the rain. Lacking in ideas for the night I thought I'd give it a go and put my own slant on it.
I drew and cut out the cliffs and figures and attached them to my diorama frame. Beauty dish behind for the moon and black fiber optic lp brush in the foreground leading in with the bokeh.
Bit of a faff in light room with a warming of the white balance as I felt a warmer feel suited the image better.
