I got this Uncle Sam at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC, believe it or not. It took a lot of tries to get it lit properly, mainly because of the hat casting weird shadows. Finally got it right with one light held above and to the left of the lightbox along with the on-camera flash (diffused).

My initial set up. Each lamp cost $7.99 at Canadian Tire. Each light has a GE "Energy Smart" 26W Daylight Compact Fluorescent bulb (equivalent of 100W each) Obviously, the two lights are not on yet. :) I changed the tripod later and used this one as a stand for the light on the right.
I made this so I can take pictures when it's dark outside. Nice, eh?

Esta es la última configuración de mi Lightbox con mesa propia. Ya no lo tengo que estar armando cada vez que voy a tomar fotos, así que estaré tomando fotos más seguido y apenas me llegan las figuras.

This is the last set up of light box with its own table. So I won't have to build it anymore when I'm going to take pictures. I will take pictures faster and just when the figures arrive.
Lightbox seen from the top. Batteries removedfrom the led light and put in a separate battery-holder. Mounted a on/off switch on the holder aswell. A bit of beginner-soldering here. Hope it holds.
That lightbox has 5 layers, no space between layers, white 2835 led strip around the perimeter, light blue tissue paper for coloring. Laser-cutted layers. Picture taken from internet img00.deviantart.net/8aad/i/2017/268/5/8/gta__vice_city_i...
After discovering & creating my first paper lightboxes I started to make them with laser cutting. Lightboxes with hand-cutting are good & more nice-looking. But laser cutting is faster & more accurate than my cutting skill. Anyway, laser cutting has its minus. It is fire marks on the edges of the picture's lines. You know it & can't do anything with it
Nowadays I create lightboxes this way - I draw the picture above the original photo in computer program. Than I give it to the people with laser-cutting machine & make the lightbox's frame. Finally comes the assembly and lightbox is completed
These past few weeks have been a roller coaster of emotions, lots of thoughts going on in my head.
Then it hit me. I am not being myself. I am not being the HP that I usually am. I need to go back to and be true to myself. I had an epiphany.
I am not the kind of guy that feels he should have to walk on eggshells for this person or for that person. I am very black and white. I can't please everyone all of the time. All I can do is be me. And I like me. I like to have to have fun, and everyone has fun around me. And for those that can't handle the HP, I'm sorry. You have a choice to make, and that's deal with me or don't.
This is my world. I run this joint. And I may set it on fire just to watch it burn
That's how I roll.

Soligor TM and 50mm F/1.8 Lens as captured in my homemade lightbox. If only i'd made the box a little larger (but that would require extra globes and lamps/holders!)
My colleague worked for 45 years and didn't want to retire until two months ago. This was shot few days before he retired.
so I brought the ancient lightbox down from the attic and had a little play time. Not happy with the way the camera appears to read the identical background in various shades ranging from white to yellow, and it is also hard to get the focus right, but otherwise it's been fun to play around.

Opening the deck of cards then flip the coin mono/color. Full of inspiration and fun challenging your thought process and creative side. My side project this year.
I decided to take on the challenge of creating an affordable, collapsible light box for people who may be short on space as well as cash. The problem I found with many of the affordable foam core light boxes is that every time you want to take it down you risk having the tape rip the walls apart. That in combination with the potentially frustrating assembly as one fumbles with the foam core like a house of cards lead me to the idea of a dove-tail like joint for the box.
This has been my photo set up for some time now. I have been planning to make a cardboard lightbox forever, I need to just do it already.
Funny that you don't notice how bad the yard looks until you take a picture of it. I swear all of those leaves must have fallen last night. I see some trash on the ground too, yikes.

Cutting the sides out. There seem to be two schools of thought here - one is to leave the back (which is at the bottom in this shot) and one side solid - this means that the back of the box is solid when it's been righted - leaving the flaps here to adjust the light coming in from the front. The other is to cut out all four sides and leave the bottom of the box so that there is a back but no sides. But at this cost, hey, you can make one of each style!
