The Ayutthaya historical park is the ruins of the former capital of the Kingdom of Siam. It is the site of sacked and destruction of the Ayutthaya city, its art and buildings by the Burmese in 1767, which is recognized internationally as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The city was refounded a few kilometers to the east. The city is sometimes called "Venice of the East".; credit wikipedia

Each time we visit the Sierras, we make a special effort to visit Mono Lake (near Mammoth Lakes) and tour the famous tufa gardens. For more information about Mono Lake, you can visit here.

More of our favourite views from our July 2020 trip to the California Sierras and Highway 395 are available. The full album from this trip will be available over the next several days here.

This was the fourth National Park I went to on my trip. My next upload will show one of the arches in the park for which it is famous.

Arches National Park is a US National Park in eastern Utah. The park is adjacent to the Colorado River, 4 miles (6 km) north of Moab, Utah. It is home to over 2,000 natural sandstone arches, including the world-famous Delicate Arch, in addition to a variety of unique geological resources and formations. It contains the highest density of natural arches in the world.

The park consists of 76,679 acres (119.811 sq mi; 31,031 ha; 310.31 km2) of high desert located in the Colorado Plateau. Its highest elevation is 5,653 feet (1,723 m) at Elephant Butte, and its lowest elevation is 4,085 feet (1,245 m) at the visitor center. Forty-three arches are known to have collapsed since 1977. The park receives on average 10 inches (250 mm) of rain a year.

Administered by the National Park Service, the area was originally named a National Monument on April 12, 1929. It was redesignated as a National Park on November 12, 1971.

Pentax Project 52 Week 5 - Car Streaks. 15 second exposure @ f/11. This shot was a happy accident since one of the few remaining parking spots happened to be at the top of a structure. Added bonus: way fewer passersby staring at me than when I was at ground level.
