I firmly believe there is a spiritual energy connected with bodies of water. Saw this referenced on one of those ghost hunting TV shows years ago. The investigators noticed an uptick on paranormal activity in places saturated near rivers, lakes, ponds, etc. Not sure about any of that ghost stuff, but it stands to reason that water can harbor some form of energy. It is after all one of the forces of nature that sustains life. One of the cemeteries I visit is bounded by a river, and I invariably experience strange phenomenon there. I'm always drawn to ponds and streams. I find them instantly soothing of the soul, and its easy to drift off in to a meditative state if you spend any amount of time there. My back woods open up to this small pond, and it's been a source of inspiration over the years. I find it almost impossible to walk past it without pausing at least a moment to appreciate it, and just as often photograph it. I've witnessed it in every conceivable light, and am continually amazed at all of the 'faces' it reveals, everything from inky black to radiant splendor...like a giant mood ring. I'm always keen on its reflective quality. What you see is a sort of reality-based Rorschach test. Some people see a whole other world in the reflected light. Others see only the water itself, or what lies just beneath the surface. On this lonely autumn day I happened upon this extraordinary scene. It was as if nature teed this up exclusively for me. Of course I got the shot, but also lingered much longer. There was a presence here far beyond that which I could actually see.

Life changes the shapes but never stop

Life begins small

And soft as a rabbits tail

Then grows big and hard.

I was walking along a country path near home when I smelled a gorgeous scent. Unusual. Then I saw why: a bunch of wisteria was escaping from the garden behind the stone bricks. How many of you have had, at least once in your life, the wish to escape?

Life breaks through, even in the hardest of times.

Life has its high and low points for everyone.

The trick is understanding that the low points don't have to last forever.

Life in Kecskemet Hungary

America - „A horse with no name“

www.youtube.com/watch?v=mSZXWdKSQNM

On the first part of the journey

I was looking at all the life

There were plants and birds and rocks and things

There was sand and hills and rings

The first thing I met was a fly with a buzz

And the sky with no clouds

The heat was hot, and the ground was dry

But the air was full of sound

I′ve been through the desert

On a horse with no name

It felt good to be out of the rain

In the desert, you can remember your name

'Cause there ain′t no one for to give you no pain

La, la, la, la, la, la

La, la, la, la, la, la

La, la, la, la, la, la

La, la, la, la, la, la

After two days in the desert sun

My skin began to turn red

After three days in the desert fun

I was looking at a river bed

And the story it told of a river that flowed

Made me sad to think it was dead

You see I've been through the desert

On a horse with no name

It felt good to be out of the rain

In the desert, you can remember your name

'Cause there ain′t no one for to give you no pain

La, la, la, la, la, la

La, la, la, la, la, la

La, la, la, la, la, la

La, la, la, la, la, la

After nine days, I let the horse run free

′Cause the desert had turned to sea

There were plants and birds and rocks and things

There was sand and hills and rings

The ocean is a desert with it's life underground

And a perfect disguise above

Under the cities lies a heart made of ground

But the humans will give no love

You see I′ve been through the desert

On a horse with no name

It felt good to be out of the rain

In the desert, you can remember your name

'Cause there ain′t no one for to give you no pain

La, la, la, la, la, la

La, la, la, la, la, la

La, la, la, la, la, la

La, la, la, la, la, la

La, la, la, la, la, la

La, la, la, la, la, la

La, la, la, la, la, la

La, la, la, la, la, la

Interestingly, it was the aftermath of one of my recent storm encounters when I began to conceptualize the lure. My attraction to boundaries is part of it. There's a thrill-seeking component as well. But that is inextricably linked to a creative desire, rather than unadulterated risk taking. Many is the time I wonder if I would even be in whatever situation I find myself absent the camera. Truly I found myself on a completely different life path once I began devoting serious time and effort to photography. I began to see my world differently, but more importantly actually going out and seeing it in reality.

My realization the other day had more to do with the effect an episode such as this storm has on me (need not be a storm, could be just an event, but the storm will serve for this narrative). I recall how I felt when I turned onto this farm road and realized the extent of the storm. All at once, every last mundane thought of the workday vanished. All that mattered in this moment was the immediate environment. My mind switches into 'event' mode as it considers light, shadow, clouds, weather, wind...all of the factors that feed into the process of composing photos while simultaneously maintaining situational awareness, perhaps more accurately phrased situation appreciation. In this case it was the overarching transformation of a tranquil summer evening into an otherworldly view of light and shadow. Exquisite as always to be right in the middle of this.

Later, heading back home, my mind began to decompress. Suddenly I remembered that I needed to tend the recycle bins and take out the trash. And sort some bills. These thoughts and others quickly siphoned off my 'event' mode energy. I need to reengage my normal life but part of me wants to cling to the adventure, to remain in that other world. And then again the story can't be re-lived or recounted until it ends. A real conundrum. Of course a return to normal life is inevitable. I suppose the high energy moments need a counterpoint in order to be truly appreciated. Still a bummer. But even then, in the back of my mind, the memories remain and they are vivid. And there's the photos...

Life has many ways of testing a person's will.

Either by having nothing happen at all or by having all happen at once!

My life have had ups and downs lost loved ones but met the love off my life and made mistakes in the past but learned from it both in rl and sl but after all the struggles the future looks bright i really believe that everything happens for a reason❤️

In Yangshuo, the Li River is probably the most important thing. It provides them with huge income from tourists, provides them sea food, and provides work for many.

This wooden rafts travel through one specific portion of the river which is surrounded by many mountains.

It was one of the finest travelling experiences in my five years of living in China.
