Civilians often take part in the fire rescue operation as volunteers in any disasters or accidents risking their lives before the arrival of any official rescue groups.

Created with fd's Flickr Toys. I also have posted the original picture in my landscape set. I believe I could "sell" this if I made some prints...nah...too much hassle.

She had pretty blue eyes! A classic california goddess! Bob Marley would be psyched!

She was tall, thin, and fit with a beautiful smile!

May the super-sharp goddess inspire you along your hero's journey! :)

Life after Death was painted around the same time as Condemned, and it is quite obvious that they follow the similar dark, gritty and depressing style. I feel the bright pink and red background really helps bring this painting to life and doesn’t detract your attention away from the face. The oily and textured expression and the potent teeth give the coarse face an almost decaying look. On the majority of my paintings I simply sign my name as Adrian but on this particular painting I used my surname (Wallett), and made it quite bold and striking, fitting in well with the whole mood of this dark and powerful piece of art.

My last work is called Life! How to represent life through the body, to create one ideal body that contains all phases of life at one time. To enjoy and understand in one single moment how life and relationships are beautiful! Starting when we are young, the relationship with our parents that helps us to grow up, then we are waiting for a baby, the most beautiful gift of our lives! And then, when we are older the intense and deep hug with our partner and a beautiful kiss!

A still life (plural still lifes) is a work of art depicting mostly inanimate subject matter, typically commonplace objects which may be either natural (food, flowers, plants, rocks, or shells) or man-made (drinking glasses, books, vases, jewelry, coins, pipes, and so on) in an artificial setting. With origins in ancient times and most popular in Western art since the 17th century, still life paintings give the artist more leeway in the arrangement of design elements within a composition than do paintings of other types of subjects such as landscape or portraiture. Still life paintings, particularly before 1700, often contained religious and allegorical symbolism relating to the objects depicted. Some modern still life breaks the two-dimensional barrier and employs three-dimensional mixed media, and uses found objects, photography, computer graphics, as well as video and sound.

Warm from my oven. I was busy all day...cleaning, baking, and other prep work for the family gathering tomorrow! This is my first Christmas in my own house.

Heck I'm 40...the kido is grown and gone and I am now a home owner!

Life is Grand!

From the leaves and rests of last years plants the new plants come to life. New life rising from the old.

I had another version of this image but I couldn't seem to get the post processing how I wanted.

With a bit of fettling in Lightroom and desaturatiing all the colours apart from red it really "popped".

Love this shot, made getting up at 5 worth it!

Stephan Jenkins of Third Eye Blind ♥

Gearing up for the concert, I read he told HuffPostLive the following and while I've been listening to the band's albums since the mid-90s, I love this:

"It's going to be the last LP, in the sense of the standard practice of writing a bunch of songs, recording, setting up the album, all of those things."

"When I write a song, I want to post it, [send] out to the universe, and it's done. I think my process now works better with the digital tools for uploading. I'm not going to worry about ways to monetize this; I'm going to go by the happiness quotient," said Jenkins, known for his band's singles "How's It Gonna Be" "Jumper," and "Semi-Charmed Life."

The crew of the Wildcat considered the alien space junk that was crawling across the desert. It seemed to be some sort of wheeled camera robot. They decided not to blow it up. Then they decided to show it some animals, old carvings and water. Just enough so that wherever it came from, people would know there is Life on Mars.
