The Library of Birmingham provides a showcase for the city's internationally important collections of archives, photography and rare books. Facilities include a state-of-the-art gallery space opening up public access to the collections. It is also home to the BFI Mediatheque, providing free access to the National Film Archive. Other facilities include a flexible studio theatre, an outdoor amphitheatre and other informal performance spaces and dedicated spaces for children and teenagers. By harnessing new technology, everyone from Birmingham to Beijing, Bangalore and beyond can access the Library of Birmingham's world-class resources. The Library received nearly 2 million visits in 2015

The Homosassa Public Library celebrated its Grand Opening on Friday, December 7, 2007. This branch marks the latest addition to the Citrus County Library System.
Loretta Rogers and I were two "local authors" present at the event, which included addresses given by state and local officials and a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Our keynote speaker was Florida Secretary of State Kurt S. Browning. CCLIB director Flossie Benton Rogers organized the event, which also owes much to the library staff and to Friends of the Library of Homosassa Florida, Inc.
Here I settle in at the author table before the Grand Opening ceremony gets underway.
I went to Copenhagen last weekend. This is a picture of an old library near my hotel. Next time I want to go in there and read some books, it seems very tempting atmoshere there...

One last shot of the end of an era. Seriously, I think this was the original desk when the building was built in 1968.
Diamond Valley Library is located in Greensborough in Melbourne's north. It is managed by Yarra Plenty Regional Library. This building opened in 1984.
Special funding will see the library improved in 2021.
The COVID-19 pandemic has meant that restrictions have been put in place which have changed some library services including the recommended wearing of masks, concierge service, patron limits, programming, physical distancing, QR codes, click and collect service, computer use and more.

The photo from my Library of Congress ID, January 2002. I'm told that I looked like a Polish terrorist in this photo, not that I think terrorist jokes are especially funny. I did get asked a few weird questions that day by security because of the PETA messenger bag I used to carry. I'd probably get in trouble for reproducing the ID itself, but maybe not the photo. I hope not, anyway.

The ABLD 2014 Annual Meeting at the University of Chicago (May 6-8, 2014). The ABLD is the Academic Business Library Directors and the meetings were at the Joseph Regenstein Library Library on the Chicago Campus. These are pictures of the sessions at the Reg Library. The opening reception was sponsored by Euromonitor at their event space on the top floor of the Motorola Building at at 224 S. Michigan Ave. This was the old Santa Fe Railroad building. Great views of Grant Park, Millennium Park, Downtown Chicago and the Art Institute.

Sti's program for the kids this week was making apple pie! Peel an apple, add cinnamon and sugar and add graham crackers, mix it all up and you've got a simple apple pie!
The JFK Library hosted more than 1,000 guests for its 8th Annual Presidents' Day Family Festival on February 18.
Visitors could meet with Presidents John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, and James Madison and First Lady Dolly Madison. They could also make crafts including tricorn hats, space helmets, and color in pictures of famous people in history.
