The HEB Buddy was back this week to present a storytime for the kids. They also brought lots of treats for the kids to enjoy!
I took this shot of the Goshen Public Library in Goshen, Massachusetts. It has some very interesting architecture. Don't have any other information on the history of this building.
Our library's entryway hosts a welcome sign in the HoChunk language as well as our open hours for this semester.
We've created a slide show for the Graduation Party for the seniors who will be leaving us. We will miss you all!
I also walked around UCSB (University of California at Santa Barbara). When I look at a university or college, I look at their overall campus and library. I was underwhelemd by the UCSB library - much of it seemed old fashioned and out of date.
Especially in this day and age, extensive collections of outdated and probably never used books and micro fiche/film do not represent a place of learning to me.

Triumph of Time, c. 1901, a two-panel mural on the ceiling of the Elliott room of the McKim Building of the Boston Public Library. The mural shows 12 female figures representing the Hours spread among twenty horses representing Christian Centuries. The horses are pulling a chariot carrying a male figure representing Time.

Architect Ernest Flagg was a student of the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris and designed Sheldon Library in the Beaux-Arts style. This photograph shows some of the details of this heavily neoclassically influenced architectural style, with a grandly designed columned staircase dominating the entrance.
