aka, Bess Tilson Sprinkle Memorial Library, part of the Asheville Buncombe Library System. This delightful building, which I've previously posted interior shots of, is one of the centers of activity in this small, walkable town north of Asheville, NC.
It began as an all-volunteer, independent effort until taken over eventually by the county system. This library retains its special local character while offering the latest best sellers, digital materials, children's books, and public programs.
McHenry Library renovation. Another view of future entry, looking out towards atrium. I'm standing about where the combined service desk will be. The pale spot on the floor marks where data and power connections will be, therefore where we'll locate the directory kiosk.
You can consult millions of items including books, periodicals, newspapers, microfilm, sound recordings and electronic resources in the British Library Reading Room at Boston Spa, near Wetherby in Yorkshire. Every issue of the Rough Stuff Journal is there to be read.

Members of Landmarks Association of St. Louis enjoyed a tour of the library and foundry on August 25, 2007. As of 2016, the library has moved out of this rented space and to the National Building Arts Center hq at the former St. Louis Steel Casting foundry in Sauget, Illinois.

As the book says, "the Schinkelesque composition of the main front is imposing and supremely self-confident."
The sculpture is by the Mossman family, the caryatids by William Mossman Junior.
The facade rebuilt after a fire destroyed the St Andrew's Halls, is now the main entrance to the Mitchell Library.

I had to pickup an order of woodcutting supply at the PNCA library -- I had never looked around the art college's library before. Wow -- great art library that anyone can go in and see -- also saw funny little contest to win a Pacman collection. Also at PNCA, some student art installations and a huge show by George Johanson - one of my favorite local painters.

Thanks to Leroy Township, CADL Webberville received a facelift, including new carpeting, fresh paint and sections of the collection re-located to make it easier to find items.
Bought several of these at a library surplus sale - it is AMAZING what having the right table can do for motivation to sort and organize the over 3000 LP's I have accumilated in the last twenty years
Each table holds about 400 albums if tight, 350 if a little loose.
And - good a good deal on 700 nice 70's and 80's for about $0.25 each at a garage sale - now have somewhere to put them if I can find room in the house!
And to think - I thought it was extravagent in college to have over 50 as I could only afford about 40! We sure have come a long way!
