My brother-in-law shows me how to operate a bobcat (his wife took the photo). He actually moved the thing while he perched on the edge like that.
I know this isn't a chair from a cafe, but the time I allotted for the drawing coincided with some icy weather and I opted to draw a living room chair.
Our Daily Challenge ... walking.
A local surfing lesson group have their introductory lessons in the shallow water and small waves of the river. Participants walk out and hopefully surf back in!
Surely not!? Dance lessons are being given to stallions during their off season to keep them from Grass Potato Syndrome (GPS). Stallionhandlers will be asked to gently introduce thier partners to the Cha Cha Cha , their response is likely to be Ha ha ha . We look forward to Tango lessons in late October, when the Stallionmen Union response is likely to be a 100% fruitier and significantly fizzier!

Right lesson two with the lights is to shoot some smoke. Here's the results with a little help from Mr Adobe!!!
This drawing of my skirt took me 50 minutes. I started with a minimal pencil set up and then ink lines, slowly and carefully, trying to be accurate. Finally I added the watercolour. I normally work in this slow pace but I looked forward to try the fast approach (if you are interested, please see the other version of my skirt)

With guitar lessons in the open air the kids have more fun. It is casual and they are more motivated.
These are individual, one-to-one lessons planned for the student's needs. They can be combined with general classes and are a good way to focus on problems the student has in English.
The school can provide a teacher to work on specialised English related to specific industries, like the chemical industry, steel industry or aviation, or for specific academic preparation, e.g. the German Abitur exam.

Went back and actually did the measured set up. Choose to do the 2 rectangle method. Not my comfortable subject matter but I am relegated to 1 chair while a team of construction people overrun my home. While I was home this was an outside sketch due to the chaos going on around me!
Some of the perspective is off, walls are muddy but found the measuring definitely helped!
Impromptu music lesson, but this is not something you pick up in a few minutes.
The little boy tried the mouth piece first, then the chanter.
He did his best, but to no avail.
Ten out of ten for trying though.
More CANDIDS will follow as and when.
Liam started swimming lessons yesterday! There are 6 kids in his class. He goes this week and next week.

Okay, I pixelated this poor grand piano to death. But even so, it's gorgeous.
Check out those pins in the pin block. Those babies are about 2 inches long, and are really heavy. The reason I bring it up is because every time I see the the pin block of the piano, I think about the time that my dad was in charge of the men's dorm back in college. They had an old upright piano in the fourth story, and after years of relentless pounding from college boys, the piano was dead. They tried to remove it, but in the years since it had been taken up to the fourth story, the stairwells had been narrowed and they couldn't get the piano down.
My dad always had a flair for the dramatic (he was a fantastic preacher) and he decided to make a college event out of removing that poor dead piano.
On the following Saturday, all the students gathered beneath the men's dorm, four stories below on the ground. The door at the end of the hallway of the fourth floor was opened up. Down the hall came four strapping college boys, rolling that baby towards oblivion. When they stopped on the edge of the fire escape, the piano made its maiden voyage out into the wild blue yonder.
My dad said that when the piano hit the concrete, the sound was unlike anything he'd ever heard. I'm sure.
What he didn't know was that each one of the strings had approximately 120 pounds of tension on them. At the end of each one of those strings was a 2" turning pin, almost as heavy as a 50 caliber World War II bullet. Dad said that they found very few of those tuning pins. Nobody died, at least that we know of...
