My dad is a fantastic pianist. My oldest started lessons with him a few weeks ago, and he seems to love it. I hope he keeps up with it.
This image is all craptastic cause the light was low and I tried to snap it quickly, but i love the moment. So sweet.
HMM!!! : )

PERSONAL FUN FACT: I know that I've had some of my Ballet Lessons Barbie things since I was a kid. I recall seeing the purple wrap sweater among my Barbie clothes back in the day. I really loved the style of it, although I didn't have much use for a ballet outfit. As an adult however, I got loads of use out of all my Ballet Lessons Barbie garments. I additionally found more in various bins and such as the years wore on. This sheer skirt and one of my wrap sweaters were both part of the "Labor Day Ladies Lot" of 2019. However, I really cannot recall where my other items originated from. I feel like I'm always grabbing for one of these pieces. It seems as though as soon as one doll no longer needs to borrow it, another doll could use it. I'm always happy to get use out of such extra items, which is why I'm a strong believer in keeping duplicated clothes. In the event that I get my hands on a Ballet Lessons Barbie, I'll have plenty of things for her to wear, and not all my old dolls will have to be undressed!
Creating an image goes through a few different stages. First there's the thing that captured your eye when you were on the location. A feeling, a story, a mood.
So secondly you try to see what made you feel that way, and you use your skills with the camera to try to tell that story using the visual elements available to you. Playing with the angle, colors, adding and removing elements by moving around or zooming in or out. Just until you feel yeah this kind of tells the story I wanted too
Then finally there's the post processing. And the odd thing is that this is also very much a snapshot of this moment in time. The emotions, the mood, the inspiration around you. It adds a third filter over the moment, a final refinement of the story that's being told.
Sometimes that final step, processing the image, turns out slightly different then you expected it too. For instance in this case I took this colorful and proud image of the stock exchange but when i opened it in Photoshop while watching a bunch of Walking Dead episodes in the background, well this sort of happened.
So that's my lesson learned for the day. If I want to make a bright and colorful image, don't process it while watching something with lots of gore and zombies like the Walking Dead..
Sometimes in village schools, classes can be small.

My wife and I recently enrolled our kids in swimming lessons at the Bayside Swimming Club. The instructors there were fantastic and did excellent work with both kids. My daughter is especially confident in her swimming abilities now and my son, who was indifferent toward the idea of taking swimming lessons, now wants to go back for more.
Credit to my wife for this shot.
A humorous way to learn about each other using books, toiletries, our clothing. I'm going to give this another go tomorrow. The squat containers top is too round, the pump bottle seems flat.
Impromptu music lesson, but this is not something you pick up in a few minutes.
The little boy tried the mouth piece first, then the chanter.
He did his best, but to no avail.
Ten out of ten for trying though.
More CANDIDS will follow as and when.
This goes way back to the big 11-hour hike out to three waterfalls along Ruckel Creek with a few great photographers: Victor, Ara, Greg, and John. The best bushwhack I've been on yet. Great time.
It's funny, although we hadn't planned on it, John took a shot similar to mine.
Someone named Zach, who I've never met, went up here over winter and took a shot from this location as well. It's the second shot from the top of the page here. Thanks to Greg for providing me with that link.
I think we over-filled our summer. My kids were out of sorts today, because there hasn't been a lot of time for just play. Or maybe just because it's been rainy outside.
On the other hand, each day when we get to the pool, they all pretty much grin for an hour straight. I'm glad we're doing swim lessons again this year.
This wooden guitar sign was nailed onto the tree in front of our parking spot at Howard's Place; Falmouth, Kentucky.

Snappy Smurfling: Apples!! Who cares about apples?
Brainy Smurf: This is what we are studying today, Snappy. I want you to notice our new vocabulary words for the day....stamen, stalk, core and pip. Bonus words are endocarp, mesocarp, and exocarp.
Slouchy Smurfling: Those words are too hard.
Snappy Smurfling: It isn't fair. You said next time I could do the computer!
Brainy Smurf: The words need to be learned before you can go play. Do you want to sit there all day?
Baby Smurf: NO!
Brainy Smurf: Good! ... Baby Smurf, I want you to draw an apple on your paper. I'm going to cut this apple into slices so we can all snack a little while we work.
