Winter into Spring. Overprinting backgrounds: music and handwriting printed over designs. Making a paper frame. Cheated on the gluebook, though, and enhanced some colors with colored pencils. Probably still need to anchor the girl to one of the edges of the paper; her side could use a small horizontal accent in the upper right, I think. Thanks for the beautiful calendar girls, Mary!

But I was like a statue at most
Refusing to acknowledge you'd been hurt

Now looking back it seems so real
That all our mistakes are merely grist for the mill
So why is it now after I had my fill
That you steal from me the sorrow that I've earned
Shall we call this a lesson learned?
Not only was the song my inspiration to this photo, but it was a long anticipated relief that I never knew if I was going to experience. Now looking at this image I have that relief.
This image puts together the feeling of such a light subject, weighing so heavy on my shoulders.

Eibhlin just got to the worksite after having her first organized golf lesson. She really had a good time and the weather was fabulous for it.

Elementary school is tough... so much to remember... it's fun when you have a good memory, but for some kids, it feels like a never ending stairway... just like the Penrose stairs.

Today I took my son for a lesson. He is not as bad a driver as this photo would suggest! Fisheye 10.5mm again, propped up on the dashboard on self timer.

One of the spring peepers spent the evening on my window. Don't know what possessed it – usually they're in earshot, but out of sight. Between the blue screen glow and the streetlight shine, it hung there with the knowledge that most predators can only perceive movement. Just stay still, no worries. If there's anything that fascinates me about nature and animal behaviour, it's their eternal lack of boredom. When there's only survival, eating, and mating on your mind, that leaves a whole lot of space from our perspective. If we saw the way some creatures rest, we'd call that laziness in humans. The longest lesson I took in living was to finally stop messing with my sleep. I wake up now at whatever time my body decides, and don't stay up late unless I can sleep in the next day. There's nothing more important that I should be doing, eight unproductive hours will serve me just fine. Just hanging out and on until dawn.
