now that my husband has an a-1 body this baby is all mine.

New Medium Format TLR, it has so many knobs and dials, it gets confusing.

It also has the special 'blue dot' 80mm f/2.8 lens.

Photos dont do it justice, its built like a tank, heavy, solid and pretty damn big.

Yet to take photos with it, still need to buy some 120 Film.

We named him 'Chuck Norris' :).

On the Birth of a Son.

Families, when a child is born

Want it to be intelligent.

I, through intelligence,

Having wrecked my whole life,

Only hope the baby will prove

Ignorant and stupid.

Then he may crown a tranquil life

By becoming the president

with apologies to Arthur Waley

I enjoy taking pictures of half my face... Is that a problem?

testing out an old manual focus 50mm f1.4 nikkor lens on the d200. input the right settings in the d200 and the metering system works fine. but of course, everything is manual.

need to get a new contact prescription, though, I think and manual focusing can be tricky without a split screen or at least focus screen designed for manual focus.

amazing how that lens still works as if it was new. I bought it for my old fe2 back in the 80's.

Photo as the makeshift to upload...

The title is a little misleading. I actually staged this one. The dog is Bucky, a Lab puppy (he's only one year old) that my wife and I took care of for the weekend. I offered him the cap and he gladly took it in his mouth. Amazingly, he didn't chomp it before I could snap the photo and take it back out!

Feb 11, 2008 ~ I didn't want to alarm any of my Flickr friends, even though I knew you would understand more than anyone else...

I had a close call... (you might want to sit down if you aren't - and if you stand at your computer, then you might want to rethink that, unless you have back issues...wait a minute...I've gotten off subject...)

Are you sitting?

I LOST MY LENS CAP!

It was so scary...I knew just where I lost it, but I couldn't find it and I had to leave the store. I left my phone number and tried to tell them how special it was (w/o seeming like a weirdo - ya know!)

Well, Hallejuah and Praise the LORD!

They called today - they found it!

It's back home safe and snug, I told it I would be more careful now...maybe even buy one of those lens cap leashes.

It said no to the leash...that seemed lame to it!

Thanks for listening...and understanding!

Give your lens cap a hug today!

Sponsored by complete and utter boredom! My love has been working a lot lately and I find myself lonesome and bored. I have to do something with my time or I will go insane. Or maybe I already have?

Still stress testing the Oly 15mm Æ’/8 LensCap lens ... finally getting outside during the 6 hours of daylight, before the forecast snow starts...got my LVF-2 last night and had to see how it does.

These are the relatively small sheets of Efke PL 25 orthochromatic sheet film that I bought to try to use with my great grandfather's old camera. It used glass plates that are approximately the same size as these sheets, so I'm going to try sandwiching a sheet of film between plates to simulate the thickness of the original plates. The camera has no shutter and relies on the lenscap for a shutter, so I bought the slowest film that I could find. I'll post results later.

Test shot for product photography. Looking for a soft lighting situation on the lens.

A new series I just decided to start. I'm going to take creative and inspiring photographs using my lens cap in the places I visit.

Farewell, then, Lens Cap for a 12-60mm Olympus lens. You leave behind a quality lens shorn of your protection, falling in the line of duty somewhere on the Paris metro system.

It is unkind to speak ill of the departed, but in this time of despair we must be honest with ourselves and each other. The only surprising thing about this tragedy is that it took so long to occur, given your predilection for leaping from the lens at the slightest brush.

We must reflect upon your creator, the good Lord Olympus, and ask him why He cannot create a lens cap across His entire range of otherwise brilliant lenses that does not suck wholeheartedly.

Lo then, for the great circle of life must continue, and we can only hope that your generic 99p replacement that, I note, comes with a lanyard which recent experience suggests will be useful, will be at least as good as you were.

Which isn't saying much. Until then, I'm patenting my temporary protection method as the revolutionary LenSockâ„¢ - It's Better Than Nothing. Purchase your LenSock at any reputable photographic or underwear stockist.

In the cold the second shutter curtain became hesitant and that is if you look at it positively, I had to use the lenscap to end exposures. I have too many camera's that do not function well.

In the top of the picture you can see the film markings. What to think of that. Anyways it shows I kept the developing time short.

I thought the plants were Greater Yellow Rattlers (Rhinanthus angustifolius) but after some searching I'm not so sure anymore

Grote Ratelaar ?

Here's my current gear since january 2010.

Found this huge mushroom out at Orroral Valley. I thought it was a 'snakesbread' or platform fungus, until I looked underneath, to find it had a massive stem. Never seen one so big!

That's the lenscap from my 70-300mm lens there...

fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cimeti%c3%a8re_de_Belleville

Only someone like me would notice that the inner diameter of my glass is 77 mm.

Seul une personne comme moi remarquerait que la diamètre intérieur de mon verre est 77 mm.

I've misplaced my Canon lenscap… This one fits perfect, but feels like a sin against my 85L.

Marcus likes to think that my Nikon comes before him. He thinks this is the proof.

But he doesn't know that really....they're tied at Number 1.
