The ten-mile branch rail line from Wareham to Swanage was opened in 1885. Trains will once again be timetabled to run the whole length as from 2016.
Meanwhile, during Swanage Railway's autumn gala, No.30777 leaves Corfe Castle station for Norden. 777 belongs to the “King Arthur” class of express passenger locomotives introduced by the Southern Railway in 1918. The large driving wheels made high speed running possible up to 90 mph. Sir Lamiel was built in 1925. This class of locomotives mostly ran express services from London's Waterloo terminus to the south west, places like Salisbury and Exeter. As a result, they had names associated with the area and the legend of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table. Sir Lamiel of Cardiff was a fictional minor knight of the Round Table. He might have been a "minor" knight but apparently he was a “great lover” I just thought you'd like to know that....maybe.
Meanwhile the foundations of Corfe Castle in the background date back 1,000 years with the stronghold visible today mostly dating back 700-800 years.
Posted for Happy Macro Monday - A gardening day, chosen from the local garden centre and planted by my grandson in a tub - Its a Coreopsis! We called it a yellow and red daisy!!! I thought it was interesting but the macro lens did a good job of showing the lower layers! - HMM to all :))
As titled, layer tape applied and blended. I could have applied a sasso (criss-cross linear gradients) to the obvious tone diagonals.

185 photos merged into one image using the lighten layer-blending mode in photoshop. I processed the first 26 photos with the comets action that is part of this script package advancedstackerplus.com. I did that to make a subtle fade in effect. Then I processed the rest with the lighten mode. This was one of those sunsets that caught me off guard, so I set up in my backyard.

I had trouble with "pair". Is it singular or plural? Apparently either is OK in this context, so I've gone with the usage above.

For the last bit I have taken a little time off from getting out and shooting, just doing as much as I can that involves "nothing". This morning, however, fog appeared overnight and left a layer of frost on everything......beckoning me to follow, camera in hand, discoveries to be made on the last day of the year...
