Multiple layered images of the same subject over a period of time or in a circular/surrounding motion.
I shot this photo late one afternoon on one of those long, magical summer days. There was a moderate swell running and a light offshore wind blowing a mist of salt air around. The sun was low to the horizon creating this wonderful golden glow as it filtered through the mist, silhouetting in layers the rocky outcrops off Island Bay in Wellington. I shot numerous frames, but this was definitely the best one of the day, capturing a wave just as it was breaking, with spray coming off the top back lit by the sun.
This was one of my entries into the 2011 New Zealand Geographic Photographic Competition in the Landscape category. It didn't make the final, but I'll give it another go next year.

This was a timelapse I shot with some black screen material over my lens to create lines that radiate from any bright light sources.
I stacked 712 photos in photoshop using this script, advancedstacker.com I faded in the first19 frames using 5% increments of the layer opacity.
I think this turned out pretty good, but the version I like best is yet to come. (the time slice)

So easy to make; I'm glad I had a go.
Couldn't find Savoiadi (ladies fingers) so used a Madeira cake, sliced and shaped to fit the ramekins. Making espresso was easy enough. and I added some rum to add depth. Next time I'll add vanilla. too. Good cocoa powder and freshly grated dark chocolate added to each layer of egg crème was about right. And some good mascarpone made this a nice dessert.
The Richtersveld is the only mountain desert in Southern Africa. Views like this, with mountains layered all the way to the horizon are common.
Use red-blue stereo ‘3D’ glasses to best enjoy this view of circular depressions in the southern hemisphere of Mars, exposing layered outcrops in the northern rim of the large Hellas basin
The geology of the Hellas basin is complex with ancient terrains showing evidences of erosion and sedimentary processes, which might be linked to past water activity. Both the shapes of the features revealed by stereo imaging and the mineralogical composition of the finely layered outcrops are key for understanding their formation processes. CaSSIS colour-composite images like these, combined with data from other instruments, help map variations in composition of the surface material.
The image was created from a stereo pairs taken by the Colour and Stereo Surface Imaging System (CaSSIS) onboard the ESA-Roscosmos ExoMars Trace Gas Orbiter on 22 December 2018. The image is aligned from left to right along the ground-track of the spacecraft, and is centred at 29.2ºS/66.8ºE.

For the 50 layers project I noted that quite a few people we're going for a 'post-apocalyptic' theme where I decided to go for something a little more subtle, I decided upon a' jungle' theme as I believed it would look nice and work well. Before reaching the final design, I noted a few imperfections and was able to act upon them with the help of class feedback, some of those imperfections being: the size and scaling of the bee on the front-right in comparison to the dolphins at the back, the lack of individuality with the lotuses, being only duplicates and also the sheer amount of lily pads in the back left. The comments on Thinglink stated that:
"It would look more realistic if you used different images for the lily pads and flowers, instead of just the same one over and over".
"the bee is the same size as the dolphins".
"It's a great picture with nice colours. Perhaps take out some of the lily pads".
I acted upon the feedback by deleting several lily pad images, adding and editing a second lotus image by changing the colour using the 'colour replacement tool' and resizing the bee image.
As well as feedback, their we're additional comments stating what was liked on the design, such as:
"The birds look subtle but when you see them, they are awesome"
"I like how you've made the dolphins look realistic jumping out of water"
"Really well done with the colours as they are vibrant and exciting, this makes your image stand out and makes it look good, well done"
"Good way of using ripples in your work maybe use shadows, but other than that it's perfect".
Editing the images on the document was particularly easy as I have only needed to use basic tools such as the 'magic wand', 'eraser' and 'colour replacement'. The magic wand I used in most if not all my layers to remove the background, the eraser I used like the magic wand but to do a more precise and careful job and the colour replacement tool I used to make the images of the water ripple blend in with the water in the background.
My favourite piece of the document was the water ripples under the leaves as it was easy to edit and looked naturally realistic.
