Well today's "explored shots" on Flickr was dominated by flowers - so I thought I would post one.
Phalaenopsis (moth orchids) grow well in centrally heated rooms and have long-lasting flowers produced all year round.

Love Dahlia's especially this rich purple one I found on a walk. Enjoy Macro's added some texture for fun.
So how are you? I am continuing to stay away from the public & travels ~ Covid-19 virus cases are still growing here in Washington State ~ with mass amounts of protesters we may see a second wave, we are praying for peace..
Stay well and safe Flickr friends.
Happy Macro Monday! :-))) Long Lasting Balloon! :-)))
Thank you for your kind visit. Have a wonderful and beautiful day! xo💜💜
Commonly known as moth orchids, is a genus of about seventy species of orchids in the family orchid. Orchids in this genus are monopodial epiphytes or lithophytes with long, coarse roots, short, leafy stems and long-lasting, flat flowers arranged in a flowering stem that often branches near the end. Orchids in this genus are native to India, China, Southeast Asia, New Guinea and Australia with the majority in Indonesia and the Philippines. A few to many, small to large, long-lasting, flat, often fragrant flowers are arranged on erect to hanging racemes or panicles. The sepals and petals are free from and spread widely apart from each other. The lateral sepals are usually larger than the dorsal sepal and the petals much wider than the sepals. The labellum is joined stiffly to the column and has three lobes. The side lobes are erect and more or less parallel to each other and the middle lobe sometimes has a pair of appendages or antennae. 22186

Our guides, from Guilin Photography Tours, setup an opportunity to go into some peoples homes on our first day.
It's one thing to be walking around an ancient village but something else entirely to be invited into a home and photograph people within their surroundings.
This lady, to me, was absolutely beautiful both in her appearance and in spirit. So was so welcoming when we came in and was so willing to be a subject for our cameras.
This is one of my favourite moments from the trip and one of my favourite shots from the couple of weeks that I was in China.

The Gretna starling display
The birds congregate at sunset, first in small groups and then in larger clusters, to form a mass of over one million birds creating elaborate shapes and patterns in the sky. Raptors such as sparrowhawks and peregrine falcons make an appearance to try and pick off a bird for supper. After an aerobatic display lasting for about 20 minutes, the starlings move towards a conifer plantation where they roost for the night.

The Grevy's Zebra (Equus grevyi), also known as the Imperial Zebra, is the largest living wild equid and the most threatened of the three species of zebra, the other two being the plains zebra and the mountain zebra. Named after Jules Grévy, it is found in Kenya and Ethiopia. Compared with other zebras, it is tall, has large ears, and its stripes are narrower.
The Grevy's Zebra lives in semi-arid grasslands where it feeds on grasses, legumes, and browse; it can survive up to five days without water. It differs from the other zebra species in that it does not live in harems and has few long-lasting social bonds. Stallion territoriality and mother–foal relationships form the basis of the social system of the Grevy's Zebra. This Zebra is considered to be endangered. Its population has declined from 15,000 to 3,000 since the 1970s. However, as of 2008, the population is stable.
All that's left of this little Aquilegia canadensis (wild red Columbine) is this fabulous seed head. :)
Happy Truck Thursday!
This beauty was found in Murdo, SD as I tried t figure out the wording it says Spray Rush which is probably due to closeness of Mount Rushmore. An old Dodge truck.

A stunning species that generates more blooms per square yard than any other Etlingera. The foliage is 6-9 foot high and prefers partial shade.
Plants of the ginger family called Zingiberaceae are a diverse group of perennial herbs with over 50 genera and 1500 species spread throughout tropical and subtropical regions.
All gingers are closely related to heliconias, flowering bananas, cannas, and marantas. Although gingers are found throughout the forests of Malaysia, they are relatively new to our landscaping industry. Due in part to their large showy flowers, they have gained rapid popularity as garden elements. Plus it's an excellent and long lasting cut flower.

This capture is of friends of mine who came to my daughter's wedding. We had my daughter's reception in my studio and they asked for a photo to be taken in front of my abstract collage "The Wedding". Happily, theirs is a continuing romance, just look at their happy faces!

Thank you for your kind visit. Have a wonderful and beautiful day! ❤️❤️❤️
The Garden sits nestled in the West Hills of Portland, Oregon overlooking the city and providing a tranquil, urban oasis for locals and travelers alike. Designed in 1963, it encompasses 12 acres with eight separate garden styles, and includes an authentic Japanese Tea House, meandering streams, intimate walkways, and a spectacular view of Mt. Hood. This is a place to discard worldly thoughts and concerns and see oneself as a small but integral part of the universe.
Born out of a hope that the experience of peace can contribute to a long lasting peace. Born out of a belief in the power of cultural exchange. Born out of a belief in the excellence of craft, evidence in the Garden itself and the activities that come from it. Born out of a realization that all of these things are made more real and possible if we honor our connection to nature.
for darla,
for her insanely sweet testimonial, she's such an inspiration of mine,
and I absolutely adore her work, thank You, truly.
It means a lot to me.
These two oak trees probably spent some years together on that field. This morning was very special - mist, fresh snow, hoar frost and a beautiful sunrise.

I found this old barn and shed in Wisconsin. I fell in love with the rural setting and the way the ivy climbed the silo. Even though the time of day was all wrong for proper lighting I had to photograph the scene. Textures help to mask the poor lighting and bring to life the aged quality of the barn and shed.

With colors popping all around the property it’s not hard to accept the changing of seasons. The light green color on the leaves this Spring is evident in the early mornings. With dew dripping from the leaves and the air so fresh and cool one doesn’t need a calendar to know it’s the “Arrival Of Spring” With all that’s going on in our lives today we should still give thanks for all the beauty we see and enjoy daily. No matter what season we’re in there is beauty all around us. Thanks for viewing my work. Don’t forget to “Wash your 🙏 hands.
Evenings like this one make lasting memories for me. The ocean holds a deep fascination for me particularly when the sun goes down, the people leave, and I'm relatively alone breathing in the raw smell of the waters, spellbound by the changing colors before me, listening to the last calls of the birds, watching the flocks flying just above the waves on their way to wherever they go at night, it's a mystery to me ... the entire evening becomes a solemn prayer.
