This song has been "burning" inside me since its release in 2010. Just a few years earlier I experienced three intense and lasting losses in my real life that have left immutable marks on my soul. I've tried several times to express this in SL photography but can never seem to capture the emotion anywhere as deeply as Stone Sour does with their song. Please take a moment to watch this video (again) and remember that some losses help to direct us but they don't have to define us.

Another vanda, this time a hybrid. One vanda crossed with another.
Vanda is a genus in the orchid family (Orchidaceae) which, although not massive (about eighty species), is one of the genera more commonly found in the market place. This genus and its allies are considered to be among the most specifically adapted of all orchids within Orchidaceae.
The genus is highly prized in horticulture for its showy, fragrant, long lasting, and intensely colorful flowers.
Vanda is widespread across East Asia, Southeast Asia, and New Guinea, with a few species extending into Queensland and some of the islands of the western Pacific. The genus is sometimes abbreviated as V. in the floral trade. - Wikipedia

Point Pelee is found in Essex County which is the most southern part of Canada. Essex County including Windsor is less than six percent native forest cover and only three percent of wetlands remain intact. Much of the area has been converted to agricultural and industrial use or urban development which underscores how important Point Pelee is to this part of Canada.

My dad’s wedding ring. A marriage that lasted 64 years until his passing of age-related causes last year. He was a wonderful, loving man who introduced me to the love of the outdoors and photography!

Rain on the Roof we had a real monsoon Monday, very hard rain lasting a long time, everything is green now for sure, shot in North Carolina.
Pollution lights can be pretty cool
We were hiking in the forest and it was about to turn dark and then we came to this nice opening in the forest and this light appeared, it was so beautiful
Now with the party people returning to their festivities I can do my typical long exposure. No fireworks in the sky tonight but what color was there was very calming in relation to the party noises next to me. Besides, if there were fiery skies tonight you couldn't pull people off that rock.
