LSL extra 90002"Wolf of Badenoch" arrives at Wilmslow with 1Z97 19.23 Euston - Manchester Piccadilly. Monday 19 September 2022.
Rolling back the years, LSL Class 87 87002 -'Royal Sovereign' with its rake of matching Mk.3 stock, was passing Fylde Junction at Preston with the late-running 07.10 London Euston to Glasgow Central 'The Electric Scot' (1Z87) on January 26th 2022. With the exception of the Northern 331's stabled in Croft Street Sidings, this could be a scene from the 1980/1990's.
LSL Blue Midland Pullman HST passes Grendon 61 minutes late with Statesman Rail "The Settle and Carlisle Pullman" running from Bristol Temple Meads to Carlisle. 12-06-2021.
LSL Rail's Class 47 D1924 leads a Slough to Kingswear tour as the train passes through Southcote Junction near Reading. Rebuilt West Country Class 34046 "Braunton" took charge from Norton Fitzwarren.
Locomotive: Brush Type 4/Class 47 D1924 (47810) "Crewe Diesel Depot".

LSL Midland Pullman about to depart Dumfries on the return charter from Whitby to Newton-on-Ayr. The Driver did not open up fully until the train cleared the platform and then the turbo came in on the rear Power car 43059 and that Paxman V12 sounded great.
After being done for the sun in the Clyde Valley, here is 40145+40013 storming through Kingsknowe with 1Z33 from Edinburgh to Crewe

LSL Midland Pullman speeds north passing Bamfurlong Junction this morning with 'The Settle & Carlisle Pullman' from Cardiff to Carlisle.
Taken from the toll path of the Leeds - Liverpool canal (Leigh Branch) with the aid of the pole, to the right in the trees existed Bamfurlong Junction Signalbox. Behind me the line descended into the extensive Bamfurlong North, Ince Moss sidings and access to Springs Branch MPD.

The LSL tour of the West Country took a turn for the worse or better depending on your perspective on Saturday.
The Carmarthen to Bristol East Depot via Gloucester leg of the tour was booked to be worked by Black 5 Sherwood Forester. I had my day planned which included photting the train as it passed along the banks of the River Severn from Sharpness Point, unfortunately the locomotive failed the day before with wheel flats. I don't know the full details but I believe it was due to trespassers on the line. I am sure the full details will become clear in the fullness of time.
Time to step up to the plate for 20107 who had to take the re timed and rerouted tour from Camarthen to Newport where she would be replaced by 37667 and 37688, the 20 would then run light to Crewe. The new route cut out the Aberthaw line and the trip along the Severn to Gloucester was also caped nevertheless a 20 working a passenger turn on the GW mainline was extremely rare and highly rateable.
So.......here we see 20107 arriving at Newport with the 1408 Carmarthen to Bristol East Depot.

LSL 47614 and 47828 arrive in the up loop at Lockerbie with the return Statesman charter from Inverness to Leicester. The train was booked here for twenty minutes.
LSL provided some extra capacity train to and from London Euston to Manchester Piccadilly

LSL Class 37/5 37667 (D6851) trundles through Twyford station with a Didcot to Acton Main Line light engine move - presumably route learning for the driver?
LSL 47828 drops down the 1/58 gradient past the closed station at New Luce between Glenwhilly and Dunragit with the the Ayrliner charter from Crewe to Stranraer. A rare moment when the sun came through the cloud cover.
Approaching Nuneaton Ashby Junction, 47593 Galloway Princes leads 5Z43 Crewe Holding Sidings to Eastleigh Works, with 43055 and 43046 Geoff Drury 1930-1999 in tow.
Shortly after leaving Hellifield M43046 "Geoff Drury 1930 - 1999" heads LSL's Midland Pullman liveried HST on a driver training run 12:00 Carlisle to Crewe H.S.
