LSL The Chairmans Train captured at Totnes Station on Saturday 19th April 2025.
The 1Z33 06:00 St Ives to Shrewsbury service was meant to pass through Totnes at 10:14 am but due to technical issues with one of the locos at Penzance it put the service behind by 3 hours. It did though make up a little bit of time and made it to Totnes just before 1pm although had to wait for a few minutes to let the XC service pass.
Despite the delay it was worth seeing the double header of 37667 'Flopsie' 37521 in their dark green livery and the hold at Totnes was a bonus as I was able to capture more pictures of them.

* line of sight in the distance was the location of Vulcan Foundry where D213 emerged brand new on June 1st 1959.

LSL`s MIdland Pullman HST passes Copmanthorpe working 1Z43 the 06.21 Maidenhead to Scarborough `Yorkshire Coast Pullman` Midland Pullman service, The power cars were 43046 "Geoff Drury 1930-1999" leading + 43055 rear gunner.

For the last week of the Rail Charter Services, S&C Skipton - Appleby specials LSL have turned out immaculate D6851 (37667) with a Statesman BCK.
After a late activation, 37667 roars past the regular Sunday afternoon gallery at Winwick with the returning ecs to Appleby.
Doing the honours instead of the failed 46100 "Royal Scot" 47614 pulls into Warrington Bank Quay with LSL's "Pennine Moors Christmas Cracker"1Z32 14.37 Blackburn - Crewe. Saturday 18 December 2021.
After its summer season on the Rail Charter Services 'Staycation Express' workings, LSL HST 43058 & 43059 are seen at Winwick this morning returning to base at Crewe.

Loco Services Limited 37521 failed near Blackburn this afternoon on the S&C tourist train empty stock move.
47593 'Galloway Princess' on the rear hauled the whole train back to Crewe where DRS 37407 was hired in at short notice. For the record here is the (19.30 Crewe - Appleby) VST passing Golborne Junction @ 20.12 this evening.
37521 & 37688 'Great Rocks' head 1Z27 05.50 Shrewsbury to Kingswear "English Riviera Express" past Brean Road, Lympsham. 47828 is providing ETH on the rear. The train will be worked forward from Taunton by A4 'Sir Nigel Gresley". Saturday 24th June 2023.
LSL's 47712 Lady Diana Spencer leads day 3 of Intercity tour's West of Scotland Push Pull. 47805 was meant to lead, but a reversal at Kilwinning loop meant the Scotrail livery 47 leading south. 31/03/24
Having not seen any rail action all week I set a early alarm to see the LSL 37521 & 37667 5Z37 Crewe H.S to Corbridge. The sun came from behind a big black cloud just after 4M35 Mossend to Seaforth containers. Despite no sun I am happy with this photo.

6300 is a converted class 101 used as a saloon on the West Highland Line and is at Crewe LSL on 27/08/2022.
LSL 61306 'Mayflower' is seen heading along the Dawlish Sea Wall with 1Z29, the 06:34 Poole to Kingswear ''Saphos Trains'' charter. 17/08/2024.

LSL`s Midland Pullman HST passes Askham bar P&R site with 1Z37 the 07.19 Finsbury park to Fort William `West Highland Pullman`. The power cars were 43046 "Geoff Drury 1933-1999" rear gunner and 43047 leading 18/03/2023.
Running at full line speed LSL's Midland Pullman liveried HST certainly made for a spectacular sight at Moore Lane this morning.
Looking at the timings it got to Warrington from Crewe in 18 minutes.
* The back power car is not in trouble, the farmer lit a fire minutes before it was due!

Certainly not the planned shot this morning but when 'The Electric Scot' was stopped between Hartford Junction and Acton Bridge I made the move south towards what looked like much better light.
In reality I needed to go a further 5 miles but it was on the move after a 43 minute stop so this had to suffice.
LSL 87002 'Royal Sovereign' leans to the canted curve passing Dallam stone Terminal and the former Dallam steam shed now enveloped with blue cladding.
LSL 47593 brings the Statesman charter from Ayr to Scarborough into Dumfries 75 minutes late. The train of 11 coaches was booked for two class 47s in multi but 47712 failed at Kilmarnock which entailed shunting the failed loco inside. 47583 worked through alone and 47712 was left at Scarborough for collection on Monday. Arrival at the Yorkshire coastal town was 1 hour and 14 minutes late.

Today the LSL operated Blue pullman operated a railtour from Eastleigh to Penzance which I captured exiting Parsons tunnel on the seawall near Teignmouth.

LSL's Midland Pullman makes it debut on 1Z43 09:10 London St. Pancras - Crewe charter. HST power cars 43055 and 43046 are providing the power as the Blue Pullman passes Hasland on the approach to Chesterfield. Saturday December 12th 2020.

After stopping to test the cab signaling and locomotive speed limiter equipment, the crew of Norfolk Southern train Y90 gets underway again in Harrisburg with the Norfolk and Western heritage unit leading.
The orange light on the cab lets everyone know the LSLs are working as the train gets the signal down the Royalton Branch to the Port Road. LSLs are required for the stretch of Amtrak the train will run to get to its final destination of Baltimore, MD.
Side note for the late night buffs: the state employee parking lot next to Harris Tower has been completely renovated, including better security lighting. The good news is it's easier to pull of shots like this. The bad news is the Capitol Police can use the improved lighting to see you loitering after dark. Happy hunting! ;)
