LSL 47828 drops down the 1/58 gradient past the closed station at New Luce between Glenwhilly and Dunragit with the the Ayrliner charter from Crewe to Stranraer. A rare moment when the sun came through the cloud cover.
Shortly after leaving Hellifield M43046 "Geoff Drury 1930 - 1999" heads LSL's Midland Pullman liveried HST on a driver training run 12:00 Carlisle to Crewe H.S.

A surprise visitor to Preston today was LSLs retro Push & Pull set headed by 47712 undertaking a couple of test runs prior to a tour of Scotland which will include a couple of runs on its old stamping ground on the E&G route.
It was noted however that the DBSO has a noticeable wheel flat so hopefully that won't spoil things.

The final ‘Staycation Express’ of the day sees 43058 easing the 1Z46 off the magnificent Ribblehead Viaduct and towards Blea Moor with 43059 on the rear.

LSL D1924 Crewe Diesel Depot on the rear of the Statesman Rail charter on a very cold morning at Aviemore -1. We stood here for some time due to the Down Sleeper being two hours late (some problem at Watford) with load 12 she was assisting 47593 up the steep climb at 1/60 to the summit at Slochd with both locos shouting to the pine forests at Daviot . A pity she had to come off the train at Tweedmouth.
LSL Class 47 No.47593 'Galloway Princess' is seen leading 5Z40 Appleby Sidings to Skipton south into Moorcock Tunnel at Lunds. D6817 was on the rear of the train.

Having recorded LSL's new Staycation HST earlier in the day in overcast weather, decided to attempt to obtain a sunny version hence return to Redbank, Newton le Willows in the evening. Approaching 'the gallery' Power Car No 43058 leads on 5Z90 17.40hrs Settle to Crewe H.S. ECS with Power Car No 43059 at the rear. As I have now got a decent image of this train, I be able to give it a miss for the remainde rof the summer! 15th July 2021.
