The Sugar Loaf (Mynydd Pen-y-fal) Mountain seen from the Burial Trail at Coleford in Gloucestershire at sunrise on a very frosty morning.
A very windy day on Inner Farne, an island off the Northumbrian coast (north-east England). These little guys are used to wind and rain - they only come on land during the breeding season, they spend the rest of the year out at sea.
The lighting is horrible in the room in which this picture was taken. I played around with settings to lighten it a little, but it still is not quite right.

Donna had just left for school when the phone rang, it was Donna on her cell telling me to get my B*T down to Loafers Lake because the sun was like a red rubber ball. So I threw on my jeans over my pijamas -Ya Right ;-) - and ran down to the lake.
Sugar Loaf, sometimes called The Sugar Loaf, is a mountain situated 2 miles north-west of Abergavenny in Monmouthshire, Wales and sits within the Brecon Beacons National Park. It is the southernmost of the summit peaks of the Black Mountains, with a height of 1,955 feet.
I approached him and asked what kind of shoes were those. He looked down, took it off, and just handed it to me. "I got these online a long time ago. Can you make out the brand?"
"It says Mezlan, I think," as I looked it over. Look at that dark mark!
"What size are these?" I asked.
"I wear a 10.5."
"So do I!"
He smiled. "Just don't steal it now!" His friend laughed.
- www.kevin-palmer.com - The Perseid Meteor Shower is one astronomical event I always make an effort to see. In a good year this can be among the best of the annual meteor showers. But this year had several things working against it. Mainly the moon was too bright and stayed up all night long. This drowned out all but the brightest of meteors. Secondly, the weather was stormy and the clouds did not want to stay away for very long. Between these challenges I only managed to capture 2, which is a pretty low success rate. Set up on top of a mountain at almost 10’000 feet, I tried to point my camera in the clearest direction. This meteor fell at 2:25AM above Loaf Mountain.
Our homebaked tin loaf is really good, full of herbs and spices, and made with dark beer instead of water. But it was not easy, to *show* how tasty it is. :-)

This wavy outcrop of Navajo sandstone looks a bit like a loaf of salmon filet. It's on a remote part of the Paria Plateau rarely visited by hikers. This area really illustrates the vermilion in Vermilion Cliffs.
The red-and-white butte above it, about 2 miles north of White Pocket, appears to have good potential for discovering new photographic subjects, especially on the west side (photo shows the east side).
On Google Earth, I found a route that someone could take up to the top of that ridge, where the hiker could circumnavigate the mesa (3.5 miles), getting good views in all directions. I hope I can try it some day, but it's 3 miles one-way from White Pocket just to get to the approach. It would make for a long day exploring that remote area. I call it Hitchhiker Mesa because from above it looks like a fist with a thumb sticking out. The tip of the Thumb crosses the Arizona-Utah boundary, so I call it State Line Point.

another interesting model from IOIO 2014 made from rectangle 2:1 of elephant hide... after my first attempt I tried to avoid the straight lines on the sides to create more natural look, but this one is maybe a bit unnatural because it's too smooth... :)
