Just a light and shadow study using my 100 Possibilities object and the temporary crown that fell out at lunch yesterday. Both of these are straight out of the camera.
I liked the abstract angle of my hand here. Which do you like, if either?
This was shot in the abandoned building attached to Red's Recovery Room in Cotati, CA. Very little light and no tripod = noise...
My buddy Jim loves spinning class. I am in retrospect not surprised he picked Spinning Things for FGR. It's a natural!
My spinning thing is a 1" spade bit in the drill. It is lit by my 100 Possibilities object, the LED flashlight.
I liked the other shot I took of a fire hydrant the other night, so I tried it again, with a different hydrant. The shot was blurry due to the hand-held camera, low light, and bad exposure. In those situations, the graininess of the "infrared filter" works nicely to distract from this.

Once more with the LED flashlight and my eyeball. Flashlight in my left hand, camera in my right. My mind nowhere to be found.

Just have a good day, OK?
Shmobist info: I'm lit by the freaking LED flashlight. Hello? Duh?
This is an Internet Friend of mine who I've known for at least three years and who I just actually met for the first time yesterday. We went to the falls and were all touristy. It was a good time. I got to show off some of my esoteric knowledge of the area, like how they once turned off the falls to see if they could pretty it up a bit.
This was taken down at Niagara Falls while we were waiting for the Friday fireworks show to start. Unless you were a massive cascade of water pouring over a cliff at 1.5 million gallons per second, there was no real light in the area to speak of. What I ended up doing to get this picture was bumping my ISO up to 1600 and using an assist from my iPhone's LED flash using a free flashlight app. In hindsight, I ought to have had Trisha hold the iPhone so I could keep both hands on the camera, 'cause it's still a bit blurry, and I probably should've dropped my exposure by a third stop or so since the lighting confused my meter a bit. Ahwell, c'est la vie.
8/365. Shot handheld at night with Sheatron at low camera right holding a flashlight to streeeeetch that shadow out. Righteous.
apparently it's more difficult to make a broken heart custom bokeh than i thought it would be (ie. i can't get it to work right).
hmmm, actually, i just thought of something that might make it work...
It's so easy to capture the magic of every precious moment and snap on the go using this digital camera, thanks to its high-quality image sensor and compact design. It provides you with saturated and detailed pictures. Surely you will love it.
What you see here is a lightbulb. It doesn't work (see the dangly wire?)
The reflection is my LED flashlight illuminating the dead lightbulb.
For some reason, i enjoy the irony of this. It probably doesn't work for anybody else. But, hey, who said photography was performance art?

I hadn't cleaned Roxie in a month! She was filthy, covered with dust. Spending a couple hours cleaning her was relaxing.
To make sure she was gleaming, I used my 100 Possibilities object, the LED Flashlight, to put some light on her chrome.
I found my 100 Possibilities object, the LED Flashlight. Or rather, "it showed up" while I was on my trip to the Grand Canyon.
Yay!
Not feeling swell. A runny nose came on quickly, and by the time I left work, I was sneezing like crazy.
But oh Hai! Look at the red laser dot from my 100 Possibilities object.
The spooky staircase phenomenon in my dream...
That was a very dark corner at Seaholm Power Plant and inspired by my buddy Mike to paint the staircase and the lamp reflector with my LED flashlight.

For fun, I stuck my LED light at the end of a PVC pipe I have in my garage. Imagine my surprise to see all the junk inside.
Poor silly spiders. How many flies they think they're going to catch in there?

FGR picked HaPPY TaBLeDaNCe TueSDaY. I added my 100 Possibilities Project to the mix to get that Rave Club feel. (As if)
HTDT!
LED takes 3 AAA batteries, but lasts for 75 hours. Mag light uses 2 AA and lasts for 6 hours (if you're lucky). In this photo, both flashlights are using brand new batteries. Note ... not all LED flashlights are the same. I bought 2 from Walmart and there no where as good as the one from www.surpluscomputers.com/store/main.aspx?p=ItemDetail&...
Today FGR wanted us to use a single light source. I have a single source I have been using for my 100 Possibilities object: the LED Flashlight.
With that, good night. I'm beat.
Close up texture shot of an old sign at a nearby park. Light source is my LED flashlight at extreme low camera right.
Mini MagLite Solitaire AAA-cell flashlight. Bright, durable, and easy to use. The rotating barrel switch has so far been resistant to accidental activation while being carried in a pocket. I've only had this light for a bit less than two weeks, and it has already proven convenient on several occasions.
I LOVE LED flashlights. Soooo much brightness in such a tiny package.
macro monday - theme: big things in small packages
These photos were made in the dark by placing the glass of water on a stool, putting the camera on B-mode, and shining a mini LED flashlight around.
I wanted to nab a shot of a toy alien but just couldn't get it right....then I looked at the shadow being cast on the door and moved the camera....boo ya.
True story: My roommate Colleen walked in while I had this photo open and said, "You should put that on Flicker!" Then she walked back to the kitchen, opened a can of fat-free refried beans and said, "This looks like fucking dog shit!" But I guess she deemed the beans necessary because I hear the microwave going.
