À chaque automne les oies sont de passage chez-moi de octobre à décembre. Dans les bonnes années, elles sont près de 100,000 à nous visiter.

Marcel Cadeaux (1904-1987), a native of Casablanca, Morocco, opened Le Petit Paris, at 1215 Connecticut Avenue NW, in 1965. The Evening Star's John Rosson thought the chic little cafe was so authentic, "we'd have sworn we were dining in Paris." The atmosphere was aided by hostess Jacqueline Rodier, a veteran of Chez Francois and Le Rive Gauche. Le Petit Paris proved very popular and continued in business into the 1970s.
Le Mans 2001: The British Invasion
Remember the "other" Audi from 1999? The sleek but somewhat troubled Audi R8c coupe was developed and run by British firm RTN. Lessons learned, that team re-emerges wearing Bentley colors and powered by a reworked version of the faultless Audi v8 from the R8's.
In the smaller/lighter 675 class, Lola and a reinvigorated MG brand bring the new EX275 with a new team and a mighty new turbo 4 cylinder engine.
After 2000's taste of victory, Audi return for a repeat with a pair of slightly updated r8s, and they bring some friends for backup. A customer program supplies two private teams running last year's winning version of the R8; Stefan Johansson sporting the much-loved Gulf livery, and the highly successful Champion team from the US ALMS series.
Cadillac’s Northstar LMP is back, heavily modified by Nigel stroud. Chrysler return with the sleek new SP1 built by Dallara (who also build the Audi tubs) and run by the French Oreca team. Panoz gambles with a completely new car. Designed by Andy Thorby, built by a new team at Elan, and powered by a new compact lightweight 4.0 Zytek V8, the LMp07 kept only the signature front-engine roadster layout from the successful LMP-1.
France’s Courage continues their presence in the top prototype class with the tidy C60.

A wet morning greets ex-BR Class 86/2 No. 86259 'Les Ross' as it powers north through Tamworth Low Level heading The Railway Touring Company's 'Cumbrian Mountain Express' to Carlisle. The train is 1Z86 0710 from London Euston, which on this day was electrically hauled through to Carlisle as industrial action by fire fighters had precluded the use of steam on the outward leg from Crewe. The locomotive was named 'Les Ross' whilst still in the service of Virgin Cross Country, and was purchased by Les Ross, the well known Birmingham radio personality, who has restored the locomotive to main line standards and continues to do what it was designed to do, work 100mph trains along the West Coast Main Line. This view of Tamworth has changed little since the line was electrified, and with No. 86259 carrying the early 'electric blue' livery with white cab window surrounds hauling a rake of maroon mark 1 coaches it is only the headlight and head board that betrays the fact it was taken on 19th July 2014 and not 1966. Les Andelys se trouve encaissé dans une vallée au cœur des boucles de la Seine et est arrosé par le Gambon. Située à 100 kilomètres de Paris et 40 de Rouen, la ville est très touristique grâce notamment à la Collégiale des Andelys ou encore au Château Gaillard, classé monument historique. Le nom de la ville, "Les Andelys", vient du regroupement des deux bourgades : le Petit Andely et le Grand Andely.
Au niveau des Andelys, les coteaux de la Seine font partie du réseau européen d'espaces protégés Natura 2000, du fait notamment de leur végétation particulière.

For me, Le Louvre was a portal through time, each room took me back centuries in history; from the prime of the Egyptian Pharaohs era in 3000 BC passing by the Greek philosophical and intellectual prosperity in the 400 BC to the scientific and architectural contributions of the Muslim Empire, and ending in political and social transformation of the Renaissance, and the French Revolution.
It was pretty obvious that my 6.5 hrs trip inside the louver was not enough to cover its rich 5000 years of history.

Le Gros Morne. This photograph was taken from the track we walked on to reach the opening in the crest offering an amazing view on the plain. Le Gros Morne is a volcanic peak on the island of Réunion. Lying just to the west of its slightly taller neighbour, the Piton des Neiges, the Gros Morne rises to a height of 3,019 metres. It is not easy to reach it.

Le Gros Morne, vu depuis le sentier que nous empruntons et qui longe la crête et va nous amener sur une ouverture donnant sur la plaine et le cirque de Mafate. C'est sans doute le deuxième sommet le plus haut de l'île après le Piton des Neiges, il culmine à 3 019 mètres d'altitude et est très difficilement accessible à pied.
