Last cabinet to complete my kitchen organizing is our bill paying box and other larger cookware - I had a pizza stone in here and some other nonsense too and that's all gone - the pizza stone is above the oven now so maybe I'll remember it some time and use it - if not in a year, it's gone!!! :D
It feels so good to have this complete now to get rid of the extra things that have no home!!!
The kitchen is big, with lots of cupboard space, but the counter is crappy. (I covered it with "mac-tac" because it was so old and rough, but I don't really like preparing food on mac-tac!) The window looks out onto a small quad. In the winter, it's ugly because you can see all the litter people throw in there, but in the summer, there is so much green growth that it's kind of pretty.

We used to have a dishwasher that you sent dishes through on trays. Also I don't remember having cabinets on the wall up there, but I could be wrong about that.

It seems so long ago now that since both Daisy (foreground) and Dolly joined our family from a world I could never wish on anyone. They went on to have a wonderful life with us, free to wander the garden (and kitchen), and enjoy daily treats of pasta, cheese, grapes and sweetcorn, amongst many other nibbles and cuddles. Their passing was a sad reminder of the creatures with come to love and the impact they have on our daily lives. And while many other newly rescued Chickens have joined our family and continue to live peacefully away from the awful world of battery farms, the original three - Dolly, Daisy and the beautiful Dixie - will never be forgotten.

A collection of vintage kitchen stuff I've bought over the last two weeks. Top to bottom: Medicine Hat yellow platter, flan pan, two aluminum bread pans, two wooden canisters, green-grey USA platter, two tin canisters, red coffee pot (only good for a display item as rusted) and two Glo-Hill trays; one with red and the other with gold Bakelite handles. Plus, the vintage tablecloth with fall fruits and nuts!
