Another shot of the same kitchen. Again a 5 shot blend in Enfuse.
Again searching for interesting, different angles. The logs on the left were that white.
Nik tonal contrast on those white logs to bring them up some, Viveza, RAW sharpner and Define.
And yes the lamp on the right was on, just one dim bulb.

The kitchen before we started the renovation work. The linoleum was peeling off the floor. The cabinets, while pretty in a way, were not our style. The paint was blah. The benches were a little too busy for my tastes. And the ceiling fan's pull chain was broken (and it wasn't connected to a switch anywhere, to boot).
This was taken slightly after work had begun, which is why there are no appliances or a kitchen table in sight.

Used repurposed mesh fruit bags to make a kitchen scrubbie for doing dishes.
Oh, and how did I get that sweet "lens baby" effect? Leave the camera in the car over night and then bring it inside the next morning. Take the photo as soon as you bring the camera in and there you go.

one weird sort of culture-shock thing about living in new york is that, here, people almost never do the 'trash under the sink' thing. new yorkers tend to have snazzier looking models which live in an otherwise unused corner. this is especially bizarre to me because of how tiny new york kitchens are, and how rare central AC is here (meaning in the summer it gets hot and you keep the windows open which inevitably results in a swarm of flies kickin' it in the 2 or 3 cubic feet of space above the trash can).

It was like a puzzle Max said and quite fun to figure out where everything would fit! The green wood supports were originally metal ones that looked like they belonged in the garage so I spent my last $100 buying wooden ones and painting and stenciling them so it had more charm. I went hungry but I got the supports I wanted!
