The wallpaper and border must go. Not my cup of tea and totally inappropriate for a kitchen. Mum bought me the old table and chairs as a house-warming present when I got my first apartment. The chairs are rather ratty looking thanks to claw sharpening cats and they definitely need recovered.
apart from the size and shape this one seems fairly typical of 1970s english kitchens in terms of patterns, colours etc

This large kitchen is perfect for someone who loves to cook and appreciates a great kitchen. Granite counter tops, tile backsplash, and maple wood cabinets are just some of the great things about this room.
This knife has had a face lift. The handle is Amboina burl. The blade has been sanded down to a smooth surface and I have added a patina effect. This knife is approximately 75 years old and was in very poor condition.

i've hated this kitchen since i moved in, in december 97. It cased more stress and augments in my life than anything else. So before i goes for good i thought i record how bad it was. Please note that because of the appliances none of the drawers can open.
Few samples from an interior photoshoot today. Client wanted their showroom photographing, this space was tiny! Had to be pretty creative with the lighting and reflections from these shiny units was a nightmare.

kitchen tiled, pre-grout, pre-cabinets, pre-appliances, pre-counter and sink. yes, we tiled the kitchen. we'll have to get mats for the stove and sink area. this is certainly better looking than the linoleum that we originally had.
I'm posting this six weeks late, and we still don't have kitchen counters or a sink. Next Friday, Sept. 21, that's when our counter and sink are being installed.
The new kitchen is open to the dining room. A French pocket door separates the kitchen from the mudroom. Clerestory windows bring light into the kitchen. The ceiling form is derived from the original living room ceiling. The island, with sink and dishwasher, separates the kitchen work area from the circulation path. A tall book case shields the sink from the dining room table.

Have to say a huge thank you to my husband who took time off work and spent two months building walls laying a new floor moving plumbing rewiring painting carpentry and I can't remember how many shopping trips buying cupboards etc. etc. not to mention the hours of planning and changing things around that weren't just right. :)
