Was at the cash machine this afternoon and couldn't resist taking this shot with the iPhone for the group. Edited in Aviary on Flickr.

Ahhhhhhh! A refreshing dip in the lake ... air temperature 95, water 68. Felt great!

I'm in a garden isle frame of mind today, here's a photo I took last summer in Kauai. There isn't a prettier spot on the planet than Hanalei Bay.

My order of awesome kawaii keyboard stickers came in today, so I spent 15 minutes this evening putting them on the proper keys. The stickers for my F-keys are too big (cuz I have tiny F-keys), so they are left over. Neat huh?

Playing catch up on my numbers here (way behind where I need to be). Yes I know there's other numbers in this shot, they don't count LOL.

Benham Falls is about 15 miles south of Bend. As the Deschutes River gently eases its way through meadows and national forest, it suddenly comes to a descent that creates some very dangerous rapids and falls. It's beautiful, and the sound of the falls is deafening.

Well, at times we do get strong connections not only over the cellphone network but also with the person on the other side of the call. Seemed to be the case with this guy who was lost in a conversation while being on a busy road in Gurgaon.

Here's your 80's flashback!

I'm wanted ... dead or alive."

From the summit of Awbrey Butte we had a perfect view of the fireworks being detonated atop Pilot Butte three miles away. Happy 4th of July!

"Puka'ana" is the Hawaiian word for sunset, and the historic town of Lahaina on Maui's west side just might be the most perfect spot on the planet to witness a puka 'ana.

The Deschutes River Trail runs alongside this incredible river all the way from Bend to Sun River and beyond. The views are amazing and the very last light of last night;s sunset after a heavy rain created some dramatic clouds and colors.

Created using Stable Diffusion (SDXL)

You might be inclined to roll your eyes and dismiss this as a ridiculously Photoshopped image. But, with nature's creator as my witness - and as the people who live here in Bend will attest - this is the view that greets early risers on pretty much any given morning here. This was sunrise this morning, overlooking the Old Mill District and reflected off the Deschutes River.

Highway 101 along the Oregon Coast is one of the most scenic and beautiful drives in the world. The weather can be a bit iffy but on a sunny day, the blue water, pristine beaches, and lush forests are unrivaled, and nothing short of paradise. I believe this is a south view of Cannon Beach heading towards Manzanita.

Good morning! I am cracking myself up with the title of this image. Brilliant! And true ... on any given morning and on any given street in Bend, the early riser is rewarded with a sunrise like this.

One of the most beautiful views from right alongside Highway 20. The three peaks all clustered together are called the "three sisters" and the jagged peak to the left in known as Broken Top.

From the 8,000' summit of Paulina Peak, standing on a rock ledge and gazing down on all of creation - no other words came to mind. The view from here at sunset, is. Majestic.

Point of Interest: Through the sun's haze and layers of mountains and calderas, you can also see the silhouettes of Mt. Bachelor, the Three Sisters, Broken Top, and Mt. Jefferson on the horizon. It's rare, if ever that you can view these incredible mountains at eye level - instead of looking up.

For me, getting up early in the morning before sunrise never disappoints. Regardless of the weather, I love the peace and tranquility that exists before the rest of the world wakes up ... and occasionally mother nature rewards this earlybird with a worm.

Technical Stuff: This is a single shot ninety second exposure shot at f/8 22mm with Lee Big Stopper filter.

Over the course of twenty-some years I had the distinct pleasure and honor of enjoying and photographing countless sunsets on the island of Maui; and it's beauty is undeniable. What may not be as obvious to some, is the breath taking and awe-inspiring vistas and sunsets seen along the Oregon Coast. I got lucky with three incredible sunsets during the three nights we spent camping at Cape Kiwanda last weekend, this was our last night.

I was always thought the green flash at sunset was some kind of urban legend, but according to Wikipedia "Green flashes and green rays are optical phenomena that sometimes occur right after sunset or right before sunrise. When the conditions are right, a green spot is visible above the upper rim of the disk of the sun. The green appearance usually lasts for no more than a second or two." While this photo doesn't have a solar green flash, the nucleus of green captured in the center of the crashing wave reminded me of the myth, the legend, and apparently, very real green flash.

This is my Bright-Tech ex bus display. L.E.D. Front, Bright Dot Side and Power Roller Rear.

The Display has now Hinckleybus/Arriva programed in to it, for my next YouTube video. youtu.be/B6uVeYh9sDQ

Many years ago Arriva used Bright-Tech Displays before changing to Hanover Displays.

Kapalua Bay has won the accolade of 'best beach in the world', and for good reason. Pristine sand, crystal clear azure water teaming with turtles and fish, and sunsets like this almost every evening.

Another redux of an image I shot last summer in Makena, just shortly after I received my D800 and became enamored by the amazing low light/high ISO capabilities of this camera. Clean at ISO 4000.

It was just there one day. I wonder what it opens.

While visiting the Château de Chalus-Chabrol, Marj said "look at this shed, it has a veritable load of shite in it." Obviously I had to look in it and take a few pics.

The Chateau is most famous for the death of King Richard the Lionheart, who died there while besieging the castle in 1199 from a crossbow wound fired, according to legend, by one of the defenders called Bertrand de Gourdon. His entrails are buried in the castle chapel.

Here in Northamptonshire Warehousing and industry have pushed these lovely animals to survive in ever decreasing smaller spaces..where they are hemmed in by buildings and urbanisation...

Fortunately... this little herd looked well..

Old Glory flies proudly as another vivid sunrise illuminates Bend's Old Mill District. The colors were fleeting, and it almost looked sunrise was going to be a bust this morning - but the colors came with a vengeance, lasting only six or seven minutes.

I've been blessed in my life to witness countless sunsets on Maui, each one more spectacular than the next. But this one, taken from Kaanapali North Beach in December is one for my highlight reel. These colors were not maniupulated in any way, no color filters ... just a graduated ND filter was used to match lighting in the sky, water and land.

Point Of Interest: the landmass you see in the background is the island of Lanai, 8 miles across the channel and directly across from west Maui.

I got him to come with me in the batmobile, going back to the bat cave. I know it seems extreme to trust a child of his age with a responsibility like this, but he was fantastic in battle. In the chaos that Gotham is in, he might be safer with me. I look over, and see him looking at some of the buttons on the keypad...

Jason: What does this one do?

He pointed at a large, red button.

Batman: Don't touch it. It's the ejector.

Jason: Huh, Cool...

He was silent for a while... I had a suit made for him back at the cave. A Robin suit. It was just the one Dick had, but I asked Alfred to edit the sizing, and some of the tech. Make it a little more dense, and more protective. Jason is a child, after all. Alfred will likely have finished it by the time we get there, the process of the machine doesn't take long.

Jason: ...So where are you taking me?

Batman: The cave. It's a sort of headquarters of mine.

Jason: Woah... W-...Why do you trust me?

Batman: Gotham's in disrepair. We need all the help we can get to fix it.

Jason: I guess, but I'm just a kid. What am I supposed to do?

Batman: You've shown useful...

We got to Wayne Manor, and drove underneath the waterfall beside it, entering the cave.

Jason: Wayne Manor? Why?

He looked at me... I began to take off my mask, revealing my face to him. His jaw dropped, amazed...

Jason: Y-...You're Wayne! B-Bruce Wayne!

Batman: Keep it down.

I put my mask beside me...

Batman: I'd rather not have any other criminals on our tails.

I parked inside the cave, and exited the car. Jason did the same, and we were greeted by Alfred.

Alfred: Hello, Mr. Wayne. And... Oh my.

Alfred's eyes widened at the sight of Jason.

Alfred: You... Unmasked yourself, in front of this boy.

Jason: Hi... The name's Jason. Jason Todd.

Batman: The suit's for him.

Alfred: Well, hello there, Mr. Todd. Your suit is ready.

Jason: "Suit"?

Alfred pressed a button on the bat computer, which was beside him. The Robin suit came out, on a rack.

Jason: O-...Oh my god...

Alfred grabbed it off the rack, and handed it to him... He put it on, over his clothes.

Jason: Oh my god..!!! This is incredible!

He was punching and kicking the air around him.

Batman: I must ask again. Do you accept the invitation to fight along side me, to protect the city of Gotham? Keep in mind this is a very difficult position to handle-

Jason: Of course! Yes yes yes!!!

Alfred: ...Are you certain this boy is fit for the role?

Batman: He'll be fine, trust me.

I looked back at Jason...

Batman: You'll need a weapon. I have this for you.

I picked up Black Mask's metal pipe off of a table, and handed it to him...

Batman: This is the weapon of one of my enemies. I saw you worked well with that branch you found... Consider this an upgrade.

Jason: Woah...

He looked at it, in amazement.

Jason: I love it...

He looked down at the "R" on his chest...

Jason: And um... What does the "R" stand for?

Batman: ...Robin.
