I started sending out various holiday e-cards when I got my first computer back in 2001 and multi-page Scrapbooks followed shortly thereafter. I’ve been doing these Thanksgiving collections since 2003. Here’s a new one for 2019.
Our wonderful decorator Casey made these awesome figures for the top of this groom's cake for a couple who love The Muppets!
Kermit the Frog gets sloshed and sings "The Rainbow Connection." I recorded it on my voice recorder, and it it worth listening to.
I purposefully didn't clip it so you could hear the banter between the professional piano singer (Katy Stephan, the lovely redhead) and the eccentric patron who, while distinctly homosexual, seems to have a huge crush on her which he expresses through Kermit. This appears to be a weekly thing. If you can't pick up the conversation, she very clearly is disturbed by the Kermit situation, but being a good performer (minimally) disguises her uncomfort and goes on with the show.

If you'd like to see Katy, she sings at Martuni's Piano Bar in SF every Sunday and Tuesday.

With you Kermit the frog! [applause]: D
I remember I loved watching the Muppet Babies tv show, they're cool. Although I like Gonzo and Fozzie is certainly Kermit the frog or as we know in México la rana René, who steals my heart. : o)

Con ustedes ¡la rana René! [aplausos] :D
Recuerdo que me encantaba ver los Muppet Babies, son la onda. Aunque Gonzo y Fozzie me agradan bastante sin duda alguna es Kermit the frog o como la conocemos en México la Rana René quien me roba el corazón. :o)

Canal boats at Paddington Basin
Paddington Basin is in the City of Westminster (actually a London Borough). It is a short branch of the Paddington Branch of the Grand Union Canal.
I like the red carpet - I guess the boat owners must get some very important visitors. I wonder how far the owners ever take their boat, though, with its very elaborate on-board décor, and carefully arranged planters, vases and bric-à -brac. It looks more of a house-boat I guess. The cobbled area on the R is part of the towpath system of the canal. The nearest tree in the background (in flower) is a horse chestnut (Aesculus hippocastanum and the further one is a weeping willow (Salix babylonica).
The two bridges are road bridges. The nearest one carries Westway, which was opened in 1970. The next one is the recently finished Bishops Bridge, which replaced (in 2006) an earlier one, whose original section over the canal was unique cast iron design by Isambard Kingdom Brunel. There are plans to re-erect Brunel's original, elsewhere.

BRITISH CANALS
For those unfamiliar with British canals, narrow-boats like those here, are the traditional kind of craft, either originals or made in similar style. The canals are mostly very narrow - narrower than the stretch here which is strictly a mooring area or canal basin - so the boats are shaped accordingly. Towpaths are so called because in the early history of the canals, the boats (generally smaller than these here, before the advent of onboard engines) were towed by horses or sometimes the crew, walking along these canalside paths. Some had sails. Britain's canal system preceded railways and road transport and the earlier boats carried goods. Most canal boats are now recreational or, in many urban areas like this, are used as houseboats.

the original kermit was apparently made from an old spring coat of henson's mother and a ping pong ball cut in half.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Went with the family to NYC to see the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. We brought a ladder and I stood on it to take pictures and watch the parade. About five people stopped and took my picture, I guess I stood out. :)

Abby Cadabby faces the sad realization that she is indeed trapped and will likely never see Sesame Street again. The traders will likely send her to Sesame Place Zoo where she will live out her days with small children tapping on her cage and throwing things at her.
It was a good run while it lasted Abby, but The Man always try to tame The Free Spirits that dare to think differently.
Brent celebrated his fifth birthday in Yukon, OK in January 1979. Love the Kermit the frog party hats!! Looks just like a frog is sitting on their heads.

Halloween has always been a special time of year for me. Even as a child Halloween and making our costumes was a big thing. Growing up I don't think there was a year that went by that my mother didn't make our costumes. Some of the only memories that still remain tucked away in my head iinvolve being in my mothers sewing room helping her cut and stich costumes together. I was known to steal the scraps and make my own special barbie cloths and such.
I can remember the excitment I felt when I had my own child to dress up for the first time... I had such a hard time picking out just the right design for my newborn, it was quite stressful.. Needless to say, things have gotten much easier over the years.. Each year we go with a "family" theme which is usally decided the pervious year. I have pleanty of time to work each little aspect out in my head, and I start to get giddy with excitment come September. Normally about a week before the first sceduled event is when I actually get to cutting and sewing. Working long into the night reworking the patterns and designs in my head in order to get things right.
I can now understand how my mother must have felt all those years. The satifaction of making something special, something unique. I get a great feeling seeing my kids so happy to show off thier costumes. My sister even told me tonight that I was blushing when a stranger inquired about where I bought such great costumes, and my son said "My MOM made them, she is the best". :o)
Buzz Lightyear, Intergalactic Cannibal and Hater of Humanity, about to chomp an unsuspecting dude. Never, NEVER trust an astronaut. He wore adult diapers and drove through the night to get here undetected.
I found him all alone & forlorn on a park bench in Southport.
Looking at that lipstick though, it couldn't have been very long since Miss Piggy had left.
Anyway, as you can see, I soon had him smiling again.

St. Stephen's Green Publick House: Look at my new "Irish Green" Rolex. It's not yet 11:00 a.m. and she's already curled up around a glass of whiskey (much like a real Irish girl!)
I think she may just have a drinking problem!
Secret Shame
The Pillsbury Doughboy feels bad. He was lonely and ate an entire tube of cookie dough by himself and now he feels fat and disgusting and he knows full well that he's going to gorge within an inch of his life tomorrow on turkey and all the fixins'.
I walked further down and got this shot of the studio entrance. Even Kermit has a Chaplinesque look about him. Also, check out the door to the right of the gate.
Green is my favorite color. Every room in my house has some green in it, I try to surround myself in it. I would absolutely never confess that green became my favorite color the first time I heard Kermit the Frog sing his trademark song on Seasame Street. It just struck me as so sad, and yet so hopeful at the same time. A longing to be something else, combined with a quiet acceptance of his own strength and beauty.

Come Springtime there will be many new additions to the Social Columns and profuse amendments to Living Wills. However, not all offspring will make it into Dalton. Such is life in this harsh and unforgiving environment.
