Oddly enough, this photo popped right into my head when I read the CWD "opposites" assignment this week.
Just close your eyes and make believe and you can be anywhere...

These are the first Happy Meal toys I remember getting as a kid and its cool to have them again. Although twenty-something years later I'm still annoyed by the lack of Animal.
We are, we are
Not your ordinary family
But we can all agree that
We are, we are
Close as close can be
So it don't matter what it looks like
We look perfect to me
We got every kind of lover
We're so lucky indeed
They can keep on talking
It don't matter to me cause
We are, we are family
We are, we are family
So what?
We don't look, we don't act
We don't walk, we don't talk
Like you do
So what?
If we hang just a hang and no shame
We both do what we want to
Cause we come from everywhere
Searching for ones to care
Somehow we found it here
We found us a home
Operated by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).
The NOAA Hurricane Hunters conduct research using special aircraft in order to support NOAA's mission of predicting changes in the Earth's environment and managing coastal and marine resources. AOC crews fly through hurricanes to help forecasters and scientists gather both operational and research data. In addition, the crews do a number of other research projects - including ocean wind studies, winter storm research, thunderstorm research, coastal erosion, and air chemistry flights to name a few.
NOAA use three aricraft, above N42RF named Kermit The Frog, another P3 Orion N43RF named Miss Piggy, and a Gulfstream G-IV-SP named Gonzo.
Kermit is in Shannon for apporoximately three weeks undertaking several flights.
As my good friend ― Jan Morris said: “It was an American who said that while a Frenchman's truth was akin to a straight line, a Welshman's truth was more in the nature of a curve, and it is a fact that Welsh affairs are entangled always in parabola, double-meaning and implication.
This makes for a web-like interest....”

Today's photo tour sends us to Disney's Hollywood Studios to view Muppet Vision 3-D. I'm not going to tell you that I'm a really huge fan of the Muppet's but I do like to see this show every once in a while when I'm visiting because its very funny. Is this a "must see" attraction while visiting the studios? Have a magical day!
After spending almost a couple hours enjoying the Dancing Lights, I embarked on a leisurely stroll back to the entrance of the park. Among the planned picture stops was Grauman's Chinese theater. This was a park that I had never photographed after close before, so I was looking forward to getting some barren night shots.
I started out with the often seen fisheye shot to capture both the theater and the hat. After that, I focused my attention more on the theater, as I was expecting to be quickly greeted by security and pushed toward the front of the park. Surprisingly, I was still back here nearly an hour after the park close, and still saw families occasionally strolling past. This gave me lots of time to find some unique shots without feeling hurried. This was one of my favorites. Once I saw the green concrete, I knew it was fisheye time!
And as a bonus to my extended time in the park, I even captured Illuminations from inside Hollywood Studios! It was a little hurried to get set up, but I will be posting those soon.
Have a great Friday and weekend everyone!

Day 103 - It's not easy being green
"It's not easy being green" - Kermit the Frog
Green was a great topic for me today. I wanted to do a Muppet Shoot for a while now (and I still got two other ideas in my head :o) ) and since I don't got a frog around, I had to dress up myself and get into costume.
The Lighting was a bit tricky today, because you normaly try to make people look good and green is not really the perfect colour for that. Also I wanted to get a lot of different green tones in the final image to make it look even greener (if that makes sense). So I set up and nearly went all out (I was missing one lightstand, but had a couple more flashes I could have used) and then went through my Lee Filter Sample book and tried different green coloured Gels until I found a combination that was working (I ended up using 5 different green tones) and didn't make me look like a rotting zombie ;o)

"Well, we had a major breakthrough here at the laboratory - the Muppet Labs' brand new magnetic carrots !
Now these carrots are perfectly ordinary in every way ... except that they are magnetic. Yes friends, you can carry these new magnetic carrots home on the roof of your car and store them on the ceiling of your refrigerator."

If you are wandering along Szabadság Square (Liberty Square) near Parliament you could very well miss Kermit the Frog if you don’t happen to look down. Nestled next to the fence overlooking the square’s café you’ll find this beloved Muppet.
While the statue was created to recognize when frog legs became a Hungarian delicacy in the late 19th century, don’t worry! Kermit is well-loved and not likely to be eaten. If you happen to see him during the winter months, you may find that someone has dressed him in a cozy little scarf (because it can get awfully cold in the snow)
An older shot of a sublimely whimsical figure. A real shame Palisades went under cause they had a Sesame Street line on deck that I'd of killed for.
