27 - Lighting Experiment
Once again I've used a photo from my recent trip to Fuerteventura to play catch up with the photography project. The concept of "Lighting Experiment" baffled me for a while, I thought about light trails, long exposure shots at night, (if I had the finances) off-camera flash scenarios.
On the sand dunes in Fuerteventura the sun was thinking about setting and Annette (once again) had very kindly run up the hill and was happy to do some star jumps to try and block out the sun leaving the silhouette. I wanted a simple composition and I didn't want to fill the frame with the jump itself so I stayed a few metres back and tried to include more of the sky. I didn't notice the vegetation that somehow crept into the shot but I can live with it being there!

This tiny, wingless insect is a jumping bristletail (order Microcoryphia, aka Archaeognatha). Some species get up to 2 cm., but this one was barely the size of a thin grain of rice. True to their name, they jump, by striking the ground with their abdomen. They resemble silverfish, but unlike them have compound eyes (and can jump). Theirs is an ancient lineage; fossils go back to the Devonian, pre-dinosaur times. They have simpler jaws than other insects & unlike most insects can continue to molt past adulthood. Some live up to 4 years. If you look closely, you'll see they have scales almost like a moth. Fascinating little creatures.
Biscuit really can get some height for a little one :-)
Spent a sunny morning earlier this week trying some jumping action shots.
Want to try again with a different view in mind, but I was happy with how this turned out, though no idea where the ball is supposed to be in this shot :-)
Once all the group had managed to make it safely up Buckshot Lake Road a wee bit where they managed to head into the trees to stay out of the falling snow and wind, the "traffic cop" did a "hop skip and a jump"
up the hill no doubt celebrating a successful traffic monitoring for all those under it's watchful eye.

This little guy/girl ( can't tell ) was eating an ant when i found it and another jumping spider competing for it. Was funny but i managed to get this one shot, smallest jumping spider ive photographed yet.

Another jump to utilize my feathers! I love Rosanna's blue jeans combined with the feathers.
Now I just need to think of more feather ideas...!

Found in the garden on a fallen leaf. At one point a tiny caterpillar had the fright of its life as it came a little too close.
I managed a few single exposures then it eventually settled for a stack.

Cuando empezó el curso, me apetecía mucho hacer fotos de las ideas que proponía Jackie. Pero veía cómo pasaban las semanas, que se acababa el curso y sólo me había dado tiempo a hacer la del Bokeh de formas. Entonces, pensé ¿por qué no juntar varias ideas e intentar ponerlas en práctica junto con el autorretrato?. Pensé que podía saltar y ya tenía una idea y luego pensé que también podía tener una taza con líquido y hacerlo saltar, congelarlo y así tenía otra idea. Encargué mi disparador remoto y a esperar. Pensé que lo peor que podía pasar es que todo fallara, pero siempre podía hacer otro autorretrato sin tanta historia en el último momento.
El caso es que me lo he pasado genial. Es divertídísimo, me he reído un montón ¡Vaya show he montado en el parque!. Al principio estaba un poco negativa: no encontraba el sitio que me gustara, hacía sol y de repente completamente nublado, no le cogía el truco al disparador… pero empezó a ser divertido, cada vez más y porque me quedé sin líquido que si no, sigo saltando (bueno, ahí me he pasado un poco). Agradezco mucho a mi chico que me ha acompañado, porque me daba corte hacer esto en soledad…
Me hubiera gustado desenfocar el fondo, pero tenía miedo de que al tener menos profundidad de campo, me quedara desenfocada… para la próxima. El pelo me tapa un poquito la cara, pero eso no me importa… jejeje

Como nos pedías la carátula de un CD, podría valer para la cacióon de Walking on Sunshine, porque me da ganas de saltar.
Realmente he disfrutado muchísimo del curso Jackie. De los contenidos, de ti y de mis compañeros. Siento que he dado un paso importante con el manejo de la cámara y mi ojo se fija en cosas, que hace un mes no sabía ni que existían. Estoy muy contenta, aunque os voy a echar mucho de menos. Gracias!! Besos!!

Also known as viola, wild pansy and heart’s ease, the johnny jump up is actually a relative of the pansy only much, much smaller in size.
