A small (5 mm) juvenile jumping spider - Phidippus sp., I think either P. audax or adumbratus. Despite the fact that it's missing three legs, it still managed to catch its dinner. It will be able to regenerate its lost limbs over the next couple of molts.
This is a still from a video taken with my GoPro. All my fishing videos are uploaded to the iPad just after I get off the river. Then I use the Video2Photo app to view them and take some still photos if I wish. It's a pretty neat app. If you shoot any video you should check it out.
This was hooked at Portland Creek on Newfoundland's Great Northern Peninsula. We just made a second fly fishing trip to Labrador and on the way home I decided to stop off at Portland Creek for a few more days fishing. (You can't ever get enough fly fishing!) We stayed at Mountain Waters Resort, an RV park in the area. It's a great place to stay if you're ever visiting this part of the island. They have cabins available, too, but we had a campsite right on the river. We could actually see salmon jumping in the river if we looked out through the window of our truck camper.
The GoPro is worn on a chest harness ... called a Chesty ... so the video is not always horizontally aligned as you can imagine. :-)
This female African penguin caught my attention mostly because of her appearance. She's going through a "catastrophic molt," making her look puffy and unkempt. It's all quite normal!
As for the jump, she decided not to.

another day and another photographer to take to see Riverdance...there were lots of folks around again today but the tide was only just on the turn out so we didn't get down on the beach...the big blocks that make up the sea defences were our chosen location, another place conducive to jumping...would be rude not to jump when the place is just begging me to jump...once again lots of folks seemed to want to watch the loons (my housemate did her own jump shot too) jumping.

It was Jaymi's idea to do a jumping week, for her 365 photos this week. She is happy that she can jump again. As of yesterday, she can run and jump and even (somewhat) balance on one foot!
She keeps asking us if she can go outside and practice running. ;)

'Jump is a very pretty female rabbit who arrived in January 2021, aged about five, after her owners asked us to take them in as they felt they were no longer able to provide them with the attention they needed.
Her and her friend Peanut are both outgoing and friendly rabbits who like to be involved in mucking out their hutch (i.e. getting in the way!) and sometimes dig holes!
Just in time for Arachtober, I spotted my first and last specimen of Phidippus arizonensis for this year. This male was on a trail through shortgrass prairie that will soon become another housing development in Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA. October 9, 2019.

I have been after this type of shot for a while now but conditions haven't allowed it. This was captured down at Lee On The Solent skate park.
My friend's four year old daughter manages to jump across the stepping stones - all by herself - for the first time. Bless!

Well, I didn't have to go hunting for this jumping spider, it was walking around on the white table in my office!. Not a great angle, but I did manage a couple of shots before it scuttled off. Love those upward-facing eyes!
