An grown up Eurasian Lynx can jump 2,5m high and 7m long from where it stands (wihout running first).
I ve quite enjoyed my photos going from grey to orange these past few days and the heatwave.
This was Studland Bay in Dorset yesterday evening. I wasn't expecting to get my telephoto lens out but it was one of those hazy sunsets at the end of a sweltering hot day with the sun a red ball instead of my usual starburst. This is normally a great location for long exposures but I was mesmerised by those gentle ripples.
It's definatly cooling down now and with a thunderstorm in the air.

We had a day in March called Rocka sockaredagen.Rock your socks..Learn more about World Down Syndrome Day which is celebrated on March 21 (since this is a Saturday we start on Friday. Then schools and workplaces can join in):
I saw a group of red Colobus monkeys jumping to another tree. I watched them and aimed to get them into the sky. And I made it!
I have a few shots of Jane I am always wanting to get and this is nearly one of them. I'd like to get her more in mid-air. She has her hind feet still on the love seat in this frame, but it's the best I've done so far. Kinda hard to do with a manual focus lens.

I don't necessarily like spiders, but this little one was smaller than my pinky fingernail and was quite cute!

This little origami star-kusudama is trying to jump out of the frame of the photo…….
Perhaps you see the connection with the photo from yesterday? (see first comment box)

Had a go at trying for a macro shot of one of these amazing little creatures. It was sitting outside my window ledge. I had good natural light which helped. I think I got as close to the spider as my lens would allow (which is 295 mm from my subject to the sensor of my camera). Worth enlarging.
So here we see the 5th little gosling making his jump off the roof of my barn to join his 4 siblings and his parents.
All 5 little ones made it down without any adverse results and they all left and went about their merry way.
Thanks for following this little wondrous journey with me here my good flickr friends.
I am, again, posting a link to a song James Page referred me to that is so perfect for my shots of all these little ones taking the leap of faith and beginning their new lives here on earth.

I love the words, "Spread your arms and hold your breath and always trust your cape". Take a listen to the song if you didn't see the link yesterday. It's worth the listen.
Let's hope they have long and healthy lives and go on to have their own sets of little Canada goslings to bring into this world, crazy as it is.
And as a side note, I don't know how anyone could view these photos in this series and not gain an even deeper love and appreciation for what we have in our natural world and environment. These tiny little goslings, jumping off the roof like this just amazes me. That their drive for survival is so strong as to allow them to do this after having hatched just 24 hours earlier. How marvelous is that!
