The Martin JetPack was introduced and demonstrated at EAA Airventure 2008 in Oshkosh Wisconsin. Containing no actual "jet", the pack sports a 4 cylinder, 2 stroke, 200hp, water cooled engine. They claim a 30 minute run time and a top speed of 60 mph. Empty weight is 250 lbs.

When they first showed these, I thought they were kind of stupid, after playing with them, they're all kinds of awesome and fun.

actually, a little disappointing... it looked like a combination of an MRI machine with a lawnmower, and sounded like it too. But the goal is great - hope to see another try from someone else next year. www.martinjetpack.com

The great thing about the Gundam models is that they are fully articulated and have numerous parts which can be added and removed depending on one's mood. Here I've removed the shell on the jetpack exposing underlying core. In fact, the jetpack can also be removed from the torso but I don't see too many reasons to do that.
A mountains country in a steampunky world has a Ministry of Aerological Affairs, or the casual term "Ministry of Skies". This is the current minister. His job is to handle things like air travel regulations or floating rock inspections. Also a bit of flying around to remind everybody how cool jetpacks are.

Jetpacks in both closed and flying position. Both will go on sale, as well as versions with neck connectors for use on minifigs instead of connecting to armor
Harold Graham, who flew the Bell Rocket Belt on its first flight in April of 1961, and Kathleen Lennon Clough, principal organizer of the Rocketbelt Conference, in the main Bell Aerospace assembly plant. Behind them is the area where the Bell X-1 rocket plane, first to break the sound barrier in 1947, was assembled.
Count Blockula's awesome minifig jetpack idea in dark grey and red. I added the 1x1 clips so the pack could hold his twin 9mm pistols.
The jetpack folds into a very compact unit.
Jetpack WIP, this will eventually attach to the back of the Mark V B torso armor via the peg hole. I like it s ofar, I still have to do the thrusters and such
