The Jenner Headlands Preserve is an area located along the Sonoma County Coast. The Preserve is owned and managed by The Wildlands Conservancy (www.wildlandsconservancy.org/preserve_jenner.html) in collaboration with the Sonoma Land Trust (www.sonomalandtrust.org) for the protection and enhancement of the property’s rich biodiversity.

1107 is seen on Princes Street on day 7 of the Coronavirus lockdown and the second day of Lothian’s emergency timetable introduced on 29 March 2020. New timetables had already been due to come in over the network that day but the effects of the Coronavirus lockdown changed all that. Instead of coping with the Leith Walk tram works diversions (postponed as tram work ceased) , it has had to cut back on routes and frequencies in view of the massive fall in passenger numbers. The eastern end of route 44 has been cut back temporarily from Wallyford to Princes Street leaving buses on the route serving only the western section to and from Balerno. Off peak daytime frequency has also been reduced from every 10 minutes to every 30 minutes. Fleet number 1107 - new in 2019 - is seen against a background of Jenners and the Mercure (formerly Mount Royal) Hotel.

Previously known as the Parish Hall, it backs on to St Sampson's churchyard and was originally built as a school in 1652 by Robert Jenner, a City of London goldsmith and MP for Cricklade. It later became the parish workhouse before being used as a school again until as recently as 1960..

Service 23 is considered by some as having the best well dressed passengers
on Edinburgh's buses. Indeed when sitting in the lower saloon there can
often be heard educated discussions about opera, the best department stores
in the Capital, cashmere jumpers and skirts, shopping in Waitrose and I have
frequently encountered gents with bow ties and ladies adorning the finest silk
scarves. Needless to say the aromas of Chanel No. 5 perfume and CK1 after
shave remind one of being in Jenners perfumery department! As my grandmother
would say the "23 is a class bus".
Working between 'bourgeois' Trinity and the leafy suburbs of Morningside and
Craiglockhart the 23 has a diagram likely to attract the more gentile of
passenger where congenial conversation is the order of the day!
In Dundas Street I catch a glimpse of an unusual working on the 23. This
service works out of Longstone depot and Gemini's 366 to 380 are totally
dominant along the route with hardly any deviation (once or twice a week a
B7TL 7xx, a 9xx or a Trident will make a guest appearance). This is all
about to change as from June the 1st, as part of the many bus service
changes, Service 23 will return to Central depot and - wait for it, yes 366
to 380 are going with it!
Short wheel base Dennis Trident / Plaxton President number 610 (SN51 AXT) is
acting as a stand-in and this certainly takes the eye on this route.
This photo was taken at the Jenner Headlands Preserve. While hiking, the clouds became more interesting. It was intended to show the rainbow colors that were in the cloud however the black and white version was more attractive to me.
