A longer child free spell than normal today - Mum picked Eli up from playball and took him to see Peppa Pig at the theatre, dropping him back after 3. I spent most of it driving to/from Weybridge to pick up the Amby hammock that the lovely Nadia is very generously lending us. I've always loved the idea of them, but couldn't really justify buying one in addition to our lovely stokke crib. I suspect though that the bounciness might have helped even velcro newborn Eli to spend short periods not physically attached to me, so am very excited about the thought of trying it out with no3.
After school, we had our first school playdate - Megan's friend Tabitha (plus mum & baby sister) came for a cup of tea. Megan was SO excited about it, and they played nicely until they both flopped with exhaustion, so I'm feeling a little guilty for not sorting one out sooner. I'm knackered though - certainly my mental balance is beginning to tip - I've hit that point of pregnancy where I'm finding eating difficult, sleeping difficult, walking difficult and breathing a bit trickier - and as much as life with a newborn/3 children terrifies me, I'm beginning to look forward to at least being able to pass the baby onto others temporarily rather than the relentlessness of late pregnancy.
gratitudes: a new pastor, connection with church family and conversations over potluck, a quick catnap, shopping date with my oldest, and homemade kahlua with downton abby.

I found these on a run, no idea what they are from, but they look a little like an old farmstead at first glance. I will have to search the records!
I will also go back with a proper camera rather than a phone at some stage!

So, this is what I ended up with after Dec and Jan. Not too shabby... This pile includes my pre-Christmas shopping spree for some rare stuff, like that (very) unofficial set in the middle - designed, presumably by a LEGO fan, for the Norwegian Guide and Scout Association (they're currently sold out, but they say they'll get new stock in in February. Unless, I assume, LEGO comes down hard on them for using their logo on an unofficial product, without the disclaimer about "not endorsed by...").
It also contains my first LEGO Christmas present for more than 20 years, the Seattle Space Needle set given to me by a mate. I already have it, of course, so I'll be trading it for something else, but it's the thought that counts :)
And let me add, just for the record, that after having built the Parisian Restaurant, I now have a new favourite among the modular buildings. It's stunning - especially the interior.
Very very snowy day but the best thing was that this entire area was untouched, and surprisingly deep. Great fun to walk around in.
Today was a make-up staff meeting from the snow day yesterday, so I wore this shirt with a huge collar underneath my sweater so I'd have a super sweet Elizabethan ruff. Vince Noir might have approved.

Today has been.... complicated. This was our lovely ash tree, today it is somewhat reclined.
It is the 5th Anniversary of my Mum leaving us, so if this is a message from the great beyond I am not quite sure if she is telling us that our lives need to change drastically, or that we need a whole lot of firewood!
I got my 1000D last month and got addicted to it.. Now i bought a cheap lens (but a great one) and a battery grip.. Hope these stuff will help me a lot haha
