Luke 21:25-26
New King James Version (NKJV)
The Coming of the Son of Man
25 “And there will be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars; and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring; 26 men’s hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken.
Romans 8:28
New King James Version (NKJV)
And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.
"At the moment of writing to you, I am hoping that I may be with you soon; but in case I should be delayed, I wanted you to know how people ought to behave in God’s family – that is, in the Church of the living God, which upholds the truth and keeps it safe. Without any doubt, the mystery of our religion is very deep indeed:
He was made visible in the flesh,
attested by the Spirit,
seen by angels,
proclaimed to the pagans,
believed in by the world,
taken up in glory."
– 1 Tim 3:14-16, which is today's 1st reading at Mass.

Crucifixion was often performed to terrorize and dissuade the onlookers from perpetrating the crimes punishable by it. Victims were left on display after death as warnings so that others who attempt dissent might be forewarned. Crucifixion was usually intended to provide a death that was particularly slow, painful (hence the term excruciating, literally "out of crucifying"), gruesome, humiliating, and public, using whatever means were most expedient for that goal. Crucifixion methods varied considerably with location and time period.
Our lady of Kfarmalkoun, or Our lady of ruins - Kfarhelda
Dating back to the 13th century, and laying on the high hills of Kfarhelda, this church was built following the traditional medieval style.
This church is located in the old Kfarmalkoun village that is found in the Ottoman records. With time, the villagers had left their village and the buildings started to fall apart, especially after it was hit by an earthquake. Thus the name: Our Lady of the Ruins.
Some of the Church walls are covered with a black layer caused by the fires that the pastors lit when they were cold.
On the Church's apse, one can find the Deisis fresco, surrounded by the words Jesus Christ written in a royal syriac font.
On the northen wall, we can see the drawing of a bald bishop, St. John Chrysostom. On the same wall, we can find the words Domtius written in Greek.
On the sourhern wall, on can find the remains of a fresco depicting the Nativity scene with four angels and a pastor playing on the flute next to two sheep.

We don't stop here often however it is among my favourites souly for this shot against a clear blue sky.

Photoshoped religious kitsch cracks me up. This isn't mine; it's been floating around the net for awhile.
This photo was taken in August 2007 in Caño Negro Wildlife Refuge (in the northern part of Costa Rica twenty kilometers south of Los Chiles near the border with Nicaragua in the Alajuela province), where this Common Basilisk was on high alert hinging just above the river.
This extraordinary reptile (Basiliscus basiliscus) is also known as the "Jesus Christ Lizard" for its ability to run on the surface of water. When threatened, the Common Basilisk escapes by speeding across the water with an average speed of 8.4 km/h (or 5.2 mph), which is just a little slower than its speed on land. Younger basilisks can run 10 to 20 meters on water, while adults cross only a few meters before sinking.
The lizard runs on only its hind legs in an erect position, holding its arms to its sides. This basilisk is so adroit on water because its feet are large and equipped with flaps of skin along the toes.
Adults do not move slowly, but they weigh more and cannot sprint for as long a time. Once a basilisk submerges, it continues swimming until it is sufficiently far from its predator has followed. Although this lizard stays close to water to escape terrestrial predators, it swims only when necessary because there are aquatic animals that would be just as happy to eat the basilisk given the chance.
A Christian cross symbolizes the sacrifice of our Lord Jesus Christ to save us from our sins. This reminds us that we should strengthen our Faith to God.
I took this shot during my visit at De La Salle University-Dasmarinas last week.

Mark 8:8 And they ate and were satisfied. And they took up the broken pieces left over, seven baskets full.
Isn't it incredible how when man saw no way, Jesus was able to provide even more than they needed from almost nothing? Have you seen Jesus do this in your own life? Please share!

The Deposition (also called the Bandini Pietà or The Lamentation over the Dead Christ) is a marble sculpture by the Italian High Renaissance master Michelangelo. The sculpture, on which Michelangelo worked between 1547 and 1555, depicts four figures: the dead body of Jesus Christ, newly taken down from the Cross, Nicodemus (or possibly Joseph of Arimathea), Mary Magdalene and the Virgin Mary. The sculpture is housed in the Museo dell'Opera del Duomo in Florence and is therefore also known as the Florentine Pietà.
According to Vasari, Michelangelo made the Florence Pietà to decorate his tomb in Santa Maria Maggiore in Rome. He later sold it however, prior to completion of the work after intentionally damaging Christ's left arm and leg and removing several components for reasons still under debate. Some experts believe it was because the marble was flawed and the sculpture could not be completed without the addition of a piece of marble from another block ("piecing").
Vasari noted that Michelangelo began to work on the sculpture around the age of 72. Without commission, Michelangelo worked tirelessly into the night with just a single candle to illuminate his work. Vasari wrote that he began to work on this sculpture to amuse his mind and to keep his body healthy. After 8 years of working on it, Michelangelo would go on and attempt to destroy the work in a fit of frustration. This marked the end of Michelangelo's work on the sculptural group, which found itself in the hands of Francesco Bandini, who hired an apprentice sculptor, by the name of Tiberio Calcagni, to restore the work to its current composition. The left leg of Christ is missing. Since its inception, the sculpture has been plagued by ambiguities and never ending interpretations, with no straightforward answers available.
The face of Nicodemus under the hood is considered to be a self-portrait of Michelangelo himself.
