SANTUARIO DE NUESTRA SEÑORA SANTA MARIA DE LA PEÑA.

Iglesia románica del siglo XII, situada junto a un mirador sobre una de las hoces del río Duratón, consta de una sola nave, ábside semicircular y una torre, ésta de tres cuerpos, los dos últimos con sendos pares de ventanas con arcos separados por un parteluz. También tiene una galería porticada, con tres arcos a su izquierda y dos más pequeños a su derecha.

En esta iglesia se encuentra una imagen de la Patrona de la villa sepulvedana.

SANCTUARY OF OUR LADY SANTA MARIA OF THE ROCK.

Romance church of century XII, located next to a viewpoint on one of sickles of the Duratón river, consists of a single ship, semicircular apse and a tower, this one of three bodies, both last with individual pairs of windows with separated arcs by parteluz. Also it has a porticada gallery, with three arcs to his left and two smaller to his right. In this church is an image of the Employer of the sepulvedana town.

Église romane du siècle XII, située avec un mirador sur une des faucilles de la rivière Duratón, est composée un seul navire, une abside semi-circulaire et une tour, celle-ci de trois corps, les dernières deux avec chacun des paires de fenêtres avec des arcs séparés par un parteluz. Il a aussi une galerie porticada, avec trois arcs à sa gauche et deux plus petits à sa droite. Dans cette église on trouve une image du Patron de ville sepulvedana.

¡Feliz Día de los Tres Reyes Magos (Epifanía) / Three Kings Day (Epiphany) in San Juan Puerto Rico

El Dia De Reyes, the Epiphany (Epifanía) , remembering the day when the Three Wise Men following the star to Bethlehem, arrived bearing their treasured gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh for the Baby Jesus.

Celebrate it Puerto Rican style, that is.... have the kids cut grass or greenery on January 5th and put it in a box under their bed. Put a small gift from Los Reyes in the box once they fall asleep - and don't forget to throw out the grass. Have a special and festive Día de Reyes meal that day. Take pictures of your children with their boxes. After dinner make it a tradition to sing a Reyes song.

From 1558 until 1829, Roman Catholics in England were not permitted to practice their faith openly. Someone during that era wrote the 12 days of Christmas carol as a catechism song for young Catholics.

It has two levels of meaning: the surface meaning plus a hidden meaning known only to members of their church. Each element in the carol has a code word for a religious reality which the children could remember.

The butterfly, made of fabric by David LaPlaca, of Immanuel Presbyterian Church, Warrenville, IL, is used in such churches - such as ours - at Easter, as a symbol of the Resurrection of Christ, owing to the pattern of the caterpillar being transformed into a chrysalis, and then re-emerging as a butterfly, as, according to the Scriptures, Christ re-emerged from his tomb, a resurrected figure, and subsequently ascended into heaven.
