A Blessed and great 2017 to all!

Isaiah 9:2-7, KJV

"The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined."

John 3:19, KJV:

"And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil."

"It is a good thing to give thanks to the LORD and to sing praise to Your name, Most High, to declare Your faithful love in the morning and Your faithfulness at night." Psalm 92:1-2

An Abstraction of John 8:12 King James Version (KJV):

Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

"Give thanks in everything, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus." 1 Thessalonians 5:17.

A happy and thankful Thanksgiving Holiday for all who will be celebrating it.

"Because of His kindness you have been saved, through trusting Christ, and even trusting is not of yourselves; it too is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good we have done, so none of us can take any credit for it." Ephesians 2:8-9.

"But He was pierced because of our transgressions, crushed because of our iniquities; punishment for our peace was upon Him, and we are healed by His wounds." Isaiah 53:5

The 'Christ Pantocrator' mosaic in dome of the Catholicon; in the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. The dome was rebuilt after the 1927 earthquake. The Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem is identified as the place both of the crucifixion and the tomb of Jesus of Nazareth.

During a boat trip over rio Medio Queso we discovered this, in my eyes, strange creature. I was so excited to see an animal like this one, totally in protective coloration, the same color as the leaves around him. His nickname is Jesus Christ. This because when he runs away he can make a movement over the surface of the water... It sounds a little bit strange but when he had enough of being there where we saw him, indeed he ran for a short distance over water...really. Dear Flickr friends, I don’t say it so often but thank you so much for looking at, faving and commenting on my photos. I love it all!!!

Happy Easter to My Flickr Friends!

Bethlehem's Basilica of the Nativity is one of the most significant religious and historical sites in the world. Located in Bethlehem, a town in the West Bank, it is widely regarded as the birthplace of Jesus Christ. The basilica holds immense religious importance for Christians and attracts pilgrims and tourists from all over the globe.

The Basilica of the Nativity was originally commissioned by Emperor Constantine the Great in the 4th century AD. It was built over the site believed to be the birthplace of Jesus, as identified by early Christian tradition. The basilica's architecture reflects a blend of Roman, Byzantine, and Crusader influences, making it a unique and historically rich structure.

The church's interior features a combination of ornate decorations, mosaics, and religious artifacts, preserving the essence of its ancient origins. One of its most iconic elements is the Grotto of the Nativity, a small underground cave within the basilica, traditionally recognized as the exact spot where Jesus was born. Pilgrims often gather around this revered site to pay their respects and offer prayers.

Throughout its long history, the Basilica of the Nativity has faced various challenges, including damage from earthquakes and periods of conflict. However, it has been meticulously restored and remains a symbol of enduring faith and spiritual devotion.

Due to its profound historical and religious significance, the Basilica of the Nativity has been designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, further cementing its importance as a place of cultural and religious heritage for people worldwide. Visiting this holy site offers a powerful and humbling experience, allowing individuals to connect with centuries of Christian tradition and reverence for the birth of Jesus Christ.

As you probably already know, Easter lilies are symbolic of purity and as well, the Christian belief in the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

The bulb grows for three years before it's shipped to greenhouses and 'timed to bloom' for Easter. And so the symbolism of the bulb emerging from the ground continues through the Christian belief that Jesus Christ was resurrected.

It is our holiest time of the year.

Amen

Enjoy the weekend however it has meaning for you, flickr friends....Pat....xo

Snow began to fall early Easter Sunday afternoon, and 2 inches or more stuck to the ground before it stopped in the late afternoon.

Cedar Lutheran Church has been closed for years but remains well maintained and free of vandalism.

The hand that has been expressed in the stained glass is God, central to Jesus Christ, the three of light extending from the hand of God represents the spirit.

In the lower apple, skull, even those that are meaningful to Christianity, such as the fish had been represented in the stained glass.

Now that I went to Tromso because I thought I want to go to this church, the wish came true.

PLEASE NO INVITES AS THIS IS INTENDED AS A GREETING ONLY - THANK YOU.

Matthew 28:5-7

And the angel answered and said to the women, Fear not you: for I know that you seek Jesus, which was crucified. He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay. And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead; and, behold, he goes before you into Galilee; there shall you see him: see, I have told you.

Is It So Important?

Is it really so important

just to know that Jesus died,

Does it really make a difference knowing

He was crucified?

Indeed, it was for all my sin

He hung upon a tree,

So it really is important -

through believing, I am free.

Free from all my sin and shame, my

conscience cleansed from guilt,

You too may know this blessing,

through believing if you wilt.

Is it so important then to know that Jesus rose?

That the tomb was empty, mocking

all the efforts of His foes.

Yes! It proves his power,

over sin and death and grave.

By His glorious resurrection,

we know He came to save.

His disciples who had seen Him die,

were frightened and were sad;

Until the day of resurrection -

His appearing made them glad.

He ascended to his Father,

there His precious blood to plead,

For those who came believing,

acknowledging their need,

He has sent his Holy Spirit

(Guide and Comforter is He)

He will teach me of my Saviour,

who will come again for me.

Then - with all who love Him,

we shall meet Him in the air.

He will take us to his Father's house,

to praise Him ever there.

Christ is Risen! He, the King of the Worlds,

The Mighty Lord of Kings,

He is humility itself, love itself,

Holy Blood for the sinful world

Shed your blood like a redeeming angel!

Christ is Risen! He gave people

The Covenant of Holy Forgiveness,

He granted mercy to the fallen

And for the holy beliefs

He told us to suffer as he suffered!

Christ is Risen! He announced,

That all people on earth are brothers,

He renewed the world with love,

He forgave his enemies on the cross,

And he opened his arms to us!

Christ is Risen! Christ is Risen!

Let these joyful sounds,

Like the singing of angels from heaven,

They will dispel anger, sorrows, torments!

Let's join all fraternal hands,

Let's embrace everyone! Christ is Risen!
