The Maryland "I voted" sticker includes state symbols such as the the Baltimore Oriole, Chesapeake Bay Blue Crab, Black-eyed Susan, and the Preakness Horse Race.

Well, I was conflicted up until the moment I drew that line between the beginning and end of the arrow.
Do I write Ron Paul in and vote for who I wanted to be President and who is the only person I think could have really brought change for the better even if the vote wouldn't count? Or do I vote for someone on the ballet that is the closest to what I want? I went with the closest person, because just in case in the slight chance that our votes are really counted, I wanted mine counted. So I went with Bob Barr.

McCain or Obama it doesn't matter. They are choices so you think you have a choice. The country is going down a road, and it will continue going down the same road regardless. They are players on the same team.
I was very excited to vote No on 8 though. I hope to God that all the Christian/Catholic bigots out there lose, and their kids are all taught about gay sex in school, and their churches lose their right to their tax breaks, and their Bishops are sued for not marrying gay couples.

I did early voting at the Alameda County Registrar of Voters today.
Most of the endorsements I've seen start out with an apology - "Sure, Obama has been somewhat of a disappointment, he didn't do all the things we imagined he would do, he never gave us all ponies, blah blah blah." No apologies here. I am happy with the job he has done over the past four years. He has been one of the most effective Presidents in decades. I am proud to cast another vote for Barack Obama, and I hope you will proudly do the same.

So here in MN, we have 3 candidates for Governor that will for sure get 5% of the vote or more. The Independence Party candidate (same party as former Gov. Jesse Ventura) is an amazing guy, but I just voted for my second choice because I don't want to help hand the election to our current gov., a Republican. (I used to vote for Republicans sometimes, but they have been pissing me off sooooo much for far too long, so I'm done with them as far as I can see into the future.)
Unfortunately, whoever wins this gubernatorial election, according to most polls, WILL NOT HAVE 50%+1 of the vote, and we do not have a provision for a run-off election for the top 2 vote-getters (in the absence of 50%+1 for one candidate). If we had such a provision, I would have voted for Peter Hutchinson (I) in a heartbeat, because then I'd be virtually certain not to hand the election to the incumbent (Tim Pawlenty: nice guy; lousy governor).
Jesse Ventura won with 39% of the vote in 1998, which means that 61% of voters voted against him. This makes no sense -- why should he win without a majority?? Run-off, anyone ......... anyone....?
Ah, but the two major parties would suffer under such a model, so it is not in their interest to pass such a law.... (GrrrrrrRRR!) (And I hear crickets chirping at the state capitol building.)
I'm not thrilled by Mike Hatch, the Dem, but he'll do fine, and way better than Pawlenty. Hatch worries me slightly that he is a bit too much of a pit-bull type personality, which has made him a fine Attorney General, but that may not be so good for Gov. ....
ok, i'm bored... i'm waiting for the results to come in and thought i'd just play around with a few more shots with the i vote sticker and see how creative i can get. remember the last election and the whole "vote or die" campaign... what was up with that? vote or die? really? i dunno, but that doesn't sound very convincing to me. oh and before anyone asks, i didn't photoshop the stars and stripes in the background... i positioned my boba fett toy in front of a small US flag that i have.

South Carolina held it's presidential primaries the past two Saturdays, and I felt compelled to vote because this election is so important. I thought that the last election was really important, but this one is even more so, and I think the whole world will be watching, too. Although sometimes it seems like my vote doesn't count, I always vote anyway because it is our right. And, as I see it, if you don't vote, you shouldn't complain. So since I do vote, that gives me the right to complain when I am unhappy with the way things are being done, and I do!
I was first impressed with Obama when he was the keynote speaker at the Democratic National Convention in 2004, and here is his speech that blew me away:
